The Bee's Knees- Fenced Backyard

THE BEE'S KNEES is a cozy and charming dog-friendly, one-level beach cottage that is only a 15 minute walk to the ocean and less than a 2 minute drive (0.7 miles). This 3-bdr/2-bath one-story house is updated and nicely decorated. The back screened in patio opens to a shaded backyard with beautiful live oak trees and surrounded by a 6-foot fence. ***Installed in 2025- New LVP Flooring!!

This is our second home that we visit regularly, and have made it comfortable & fun for you to enjoy as well. The house is 0.7 miles from the beach via the SE 9th footbridge(4 blocks over), or about the same distance via the Middleton Rd beach access.

The house has fast 600 mbps Wifi, with complementary streaming Spectrum(cable), and access to your Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Hulu accounts via the Smart TVs. The following has been included to make your stay as comfortable and easy as possible:

The home also has 2 dog beds and 3 dog bowls. There is a shop vac in the garage so you can vacuum out all that beach sand before you return home.

The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, dresser, desk, full bath with large walk in shower, vanity with granite top, large walk-in closet, and a 42" Smart TV.

Bedroom #2 has a queen sized bed, two night stands, 32" Smart TV, and a closet.

Bedroom #3 sleeps up to 4 people with two sets of twin bunk beds(upper bunks have pocket organizers to hold cell phones, eyeglasses, etc) and a nightstand.

The living room has a cathedral ceiling, ceiling fan, a microfiber couch, matching love seat, two swivel chairs, a 50" smart tv, and a gas log fireplace.

The fully stocked kitchen features:

The dining area has seating for 7 people, while the screened in porch can accommodate an additional 8 people (6 person dining set and a 2 person bistro set).

Bed linens and bath towels are included and beds will be made. Owners supply a STARTER PACK ONLY of shampoo,body wash,dish soap,dishwasher pod,laundry detergent,paper towels,toilet paper,trash bags. Additional supplies may be purchased from the grocery store.

Dogs must be booked in advance with a $175 pet fee paid at booking.

HOUSE RULES-
NO SMOKING/vaping in or on the property
Only 8 people are permitted to stay overnight-STRICTLY ENFORCED
No Parties or Events
Copy of license and signed rental agreement required within 48 hours of booking
A $500 security deposit hold will be applied to guest's credit card 2 days before arrival then released 3 days after departure
Please be respectful of the neighbors as most of them are full time residents. Town of OKI quiet hours are 11pm-7am

Did you know that we offer a golf cart rental?

It is SO much fun to cruise to the beach on our 2023 six passenger Bintelli electric (lithium battery) street legal golf cart. It has a beach chair rack on the back and built in bluetooth speakers so you can listen to your favorite music!

Golf cart rental fee is non-refundable due to operator error or poor weather conditions.

We will need a copy of you driver's license, auto insurance, and a signed copy our golf cart waiver and usage guidelines. Must be at least 25 years old to rent golf cart.

$60 March 1st-April 30th
$40 October 1st-February 28th
$20 For stays 21 nights or longer (Sept-April)

Month long stays (28+nights) may be subject to an additional mid-stay cleaning and linen swap out charge of $250.00.

Garage is not available for guest's vehicle use, this is where we store our golf cart . There is room for 3 cars in the driveway.

Restricted thermostat- no lower than 68 for AC and no higher than 75 for heat.

Bee;s Knees

Great location. Property was as described, nicely decorated and equipped. Check-in was easy, owners were quick to respond to any communication and provided accurate information. Would highly recommend this property to anyone interested in a vacation close to the beach with many good restaurants, grocery stores and outdoor activities.

Amazing place

Great stay at Bee’s Knees!

We loved staying at the Bee’s Knees! The house was perfect for our family of four. They had lots of kids books and games that kept my children occupied when we didn’t go to the beach. The golf cart was definitely a big hit as well which made our trips to the beach so easy. The hosts were extra helpful and responded to me right away with any questions I had. Next time we are in Oak Island we will definitely be staying there!

Fantastic Vacation home

This amazing home suited all of our needs for a family getaway. Everything was so neat and organized. The yard and the fire pit really added to our stay and we loved having the golf cart!We had a wonderful time! If you get the chance, definitely rent this gem of a house!!!

Nice Home close to beach.

Great property with lots of amenities. We loved the privacy of the fenced in backyard because we took our dogs. The home was clean and near beach, restaurants & grocery stores. The owner also offered rental of a golf cart which was real super nice!

2nd Time Staying

This was our second summer vacation staying at The Bee’s Knees. We have enjoyed it so much both times. The house is clean and has everything you need! Our dogs love the fenced backyard and being able to explore around the oak trees without having to be leashed. We also enjoy renting the golf cart to get around. It makes the trips down to the beach much easier! Thanks for another great stay! We’ll definitely be back :)

The Bees Knees was extremely well appointed with all the amenities one could ask for. It was beautifully decorated and very clean. The golf cart was great for accessing the beach. Restful Weekend

We had never been to Oak Island before so we had no idea of location to stay. We could not have picked a better spot. The proximity to beaches and restaurants and the ability to ride the golf cart pretty much everywhere we wanted to go was so nice. It was nice to have a private backyard space but still be so close to the beach. We brought our two dogs and they seemed to feel very comfortable as well. It is also the cleanest rental we have ever stayed in. Couldn’t recommend booking more!

Home away from home

This was my family's second stay at The Bee's Knees. The place is kept up so well...it's clean, cute, cozy, and has all you need for a comfortable stay. The owner's have thought of everything! The screened in porch is my favorite place to relax, especially during this fall visit. I highly recommend anyone wanting a comfortable and convenient stay at the beach to rent The Bee's Knees!

Great for kids

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. Our kids loved all the games and toys that were there. They also loved riding the golf cart. The golf cart is a must, it makes getting around with kids so much easier. My wife loved the screened in porch. We definitely plan to come back another time.

Thankful they accept dogs!

My husband and I brought our Bernedoodles and my daughter and her boyfriend and their doodle. Everything was perfect! Dogs had a blast for their first trip to the beach. Very clean home and no odors.

Perfect for families with dogs!

We have stayed at The Bees Knees in Oak Island twice now and have enjoyed our stay each time. We have 3 medium sized dogs and it is always so difficult to find places that allow more than one or two dogs. They have a nice fenced in yard and a screened porch that were just perfect to let our dogs out. We only used one of the bedrooms as it is just me, my husband and now our little boy who is 3 months old - they have a pack and play that he could sleep in and we just kept that in the primary bedroom with us. But there are two other bedrooms that would be perfect for bigger families. The house is conveniently located and is a nice short walk to the scenic overpass. It’s about a 15-20 min walk to the beach (perfect for wearing out our dogs). They provide the essentials which makes it nice not having to pack so much stuff (we have a carload already with 3 dogs and a baby). The house is clean and cozy and would definitely recommend it to anyone I know.

Very nice, well stocked and convenient!

We had a great stay! The property is very easy to get in and out of. Conveniently located to both beach access and restaurants. The house was well accommodated and everything was thought of. Our dog enjoyed the fenced back yard and nice walks in the neighborhood. Bill (Host) was very fast to respond and super helpful! We love OKI and would recommend the Bee's Knees. The golf cart on site was really cool and convenient!

Amazing home

If I had to use one word to describe this home, I would say "perfect." The home was very clean and well stocked with every need imaginable. The pups loved the fenced yard and lovely screened porch. The beach chairs, cart, umbrellas, etc. Made visiting the beach so much easier. The golf cart was amazing and will be a must on our next visit back to this lovely home which we will be booking again!! Thank you so much for our fantastic vacation!!

Wonderful Stay at the Bee's Knees

We absolutely loved our stay at the Bee's Knees! It's very obvious that the host family has a love for Oak Island, but also for helping their guest make memories of their own on the beautiful island. Everything about the host screams details! They have thought of everything and their information binder is amazingly helpful if you are new to the area. They are very accommodating and responsive to questions/requests. We can't wait to come back to the Bee's Knees again next year!

Fantastic Stay!

We had a great time at the Bee’s Knees. The hosts really have it buttoned up. The home was charming, clean, fully stocked and comfy. Our fur babies loved the fenced in back yard. The best part was tooling around the island in their golf cart. Great fun!! Mariah was the co-host and answered our texts promptly and super nice to work with. Everything you’re looking for!

The Bee’s Knees is a perfect place to stay! We liked it so much this is our second time around! We brought 2 of our fur baby’s too! It’s extremely clean and everything looks picture perfect exactly like we remembered. If you bring your pets or have children, the privacy fence is completely secure and you can relax know they are safe! It literally has everything you need and more already there. Kitchen is fully stocked! Everything you’ll need for the beach! It is a home away from home. ❤️ The owners have been extremely wonderful both times we’ve stayed. I highly recommend The Bee’s Knees for your stay at Oak island!😊
