Really nice, comfortable hotel. Great vibe with lots of seating in the lobby to hang out. Every staff member we encountered was really nice. Very walkable and the perfect choice for getting to a show at the Greek Theater. Lots of places to eat nearby too. The only concern could be parking, but we scored a spot in front of the hotel, which was super convenient. I would definitely stay at The Graduate again!!

Amazing little hotel. Cannot wait to go back. The location right next to UC Berkeley made it the ideal location to complete a tour of the campus. The neighborhood is very safe and walkable. Finally, the rooms are wonderfully set up and very comfortable.

The hotel is next to the Cal Berkeley campus, which made it easy to visit my son, who attends school there.

I came and stayed for several days. They charged for expensive parking. I came in an Uber. They asked if I had a car. I said no. I only discovered on my credit card statement. I am sure this is very common.

Scammed. Be careful. They automatically charge for parking. This happed on both reservations -- first one and then I extended one day. It happened two times. It is intentional.

Have stayed @ The Graduate (formerly Hotel Durant) a number of times in the past, and still like it. Two things: the bathtub was quite slippery and needs new traction strips. Also, I was not able to get the room to heat up at night, but in the morning there was no problem. Both of these observations were shared with staff at checkout.

Stayed at The Graduate hotel and it was outstanding. Friendly staff, comfortable and clean room, great food, and ideal location. Loved the spa and pool too. Highly recommend for a top-notch experience!

Our view was nice. Could hear talking too easily from other room which was not ideal. Bathroom water pressure was lacking. The location is perfect.

Nice lobby, good place to work or study, a good vibe, nice room decorative artifacts, corridors a little outdated and no ventilation apart from AC, but conveniently located near UC Berkeley campus and friendly atmothphere.

The front desk staff was friendly. However, there was an unpleasant smell in the hallway/rooms and I noticed some blood stains on the shower towels as well as bed sheets. Before I got into bed, I found a small worm crawling on top of my sheets.

The staff is nice, but the place needs some serious updating. The room was decently sized and appointed but the carpet in the hallway and the rug in the room was worn down to the nub. Also, I question the choice of bright green walls contrasting with blue and creme carpet. Sometimes you just can't paint over something and call it a day.

The staff in the front desk are all kind, friendly and professional. Check-in was a breeze and Amy was very kind and helpful. The location was very convenient and UC Berkeley is in a very walkable distance.

I chose this lodging primarily for its location beside Berkley. It was cute & quirky but definitely had some street noise. I rented an EV and non-EV cars were parked in all of the EV spots & front desk had to call a guest back to move one of the cars. The second morning there was no hot water for a shower - no bueno!! Also, the homeless situation is getting worse with a raging tweaker in the corner of the parking lot:/. I highly doubt I will ever stay here again.

We had a very nice stay at The Graduate. Comfortable bed, clean… My only recommendation is to fix the faucets in shower. It was difficult to get warm to hot water. It was cold or boiling hot.

We paid extra to get the executive queen room based on the photos which showed multiple windows. We were extremely disappointed that the room was not as pictured and only had one window. The room was very cramped and very dark. The bathroom’s sink is in the room itself to add to the awkward layout. It is basically like staying in a dorm room which is not what the photos convey. I did try to speak to the front desk about the photos they have on their website vs what they gave us and they didn’t care. Cute cafe in the lobby (though you have to leave the building to get the coffee yourself) but all in all wouldn’t stay there again.

Go Bears! and revisit home town.
We went to CAL SWIM MEET WITH AZ/AZ STATE and the Graduate is just a walk (8 min) to the event. Grandson is on the men's team. Great location for anyone who needs to be close to Cal's events. Food and service is great. Parking can be an issue, but that is Berkeley all over.

I enjoyed the quality of the restaurant. I dislike the resort fees ,especially considering rhat Berkeley is not a resort city. Just a money grab.

1920’s style for the win
We were in town for new year’s eve and the hotel was perfectly located near the theater we needed to get to. Safe neighborhood, but I could see it being a bit busier and noisier when school is in session. Gorgeous old hotel that’s been thoughtfully renovated over the years. Decent bar and cafe. The free welcome drinks were a nice touch.

We had a spider problem in our room. The spaces were teeeeny tiny and rooms have hardwood floor and no tub. Not baby or young family friendly
