Meia Praia Lagos - Beach Club Apartments

"Although the property is a little dated it is clean and very quiet. Located between the two train stations with an approximate 20-25 mins to Meia Praia station. Walkable distance to Lagos town. Although breakfast was available for a price as well as snacks (very limited) and drinks the restaurant advertised was non existent. However across the road is an excellent restaurant Quintal do Peixe which I would highly recommend. Helpful info : Ask for a hair dryer at front desk as they are not in the room. Towels for the pool are available at the front desk for a deposit of 15 euro each but reimbursed on return at check out. Cons: Charge for safe in room. Also nusiance flies by the pool."

"It's a 5 star hotel and it shows. It is large, has plenty of amenities and resources for the guests. A few restaurants and a bar (admittedly we didn't get to try any). The breakfast was good. The pool was nice and comforting on the hot days we had. The hotel room was very spacious. And the bathroom was larger than I'm used to. We'd been in other hotels durong our Portugal trip that were quite small, so this was a welcome change. Overall we loved this hotel. I saw other reviews mention the hotel seemed outdated and needed renovations. I see where they are coming from, however we did not find it to be as bad as others commented it was. I think they were overreacting, especially considering the other hotels available in that area. For the low price we paid, our stay was magnificent. We are glad we stayed here."

"The best thing about this hotel is its location. Its a clean hotel with great staff. The beach is a long walk from the hotel but its beautiful. You do not need water shoes here. The beach is all smooth sand . There are numerous restaurants and shopping all within walking distance to the hotel as well as tours. So great location. I do recommend this hotel to future tourists. Only negative was the room we were assigned. Its on the left side of the front desk, very old rooms, large with large balcony. To access the room we had to go down some beautiful but deeply winding stairs. To go to breakfast we had another set of beautiful but very winding stairs. This area was not safe for seniors with those stairs, yet many seniors were assigned those rooms. I would recommend to the hotel not to put seniors in that area of their hotel."

"The rooms were clean when we arrived but the kitchen had oils or left over residue on the handles so felt a bit gross opening and closing them. The tables were definitely were not wiped and some of the furnishing had been water stained but that's from other guest usage. Bed comfy enough tho. Bath looked a bit gross. Don't know if it's residue staining or mould or just dirty."
