"The pool was beautiful; so refreshing. It was lovely not to have to rush to get a shaded sunbed for our granddaughter - there were always plenty of beds and umbrellas available around the pool. Unfortunately, to get from the reception area to our rooms we had to negotiate spiral staircase made of stone. Having to transport a pushchair and carry a baby up and down these stairs was very dangerous and unreasonable. We were very surprised that there was no lift available. We had the same issue when we went to the pool or beach - another spiral staircase and no lift. The quality of food was good and the prices were similar to those in the resort."

"This resort was absolutely amazing. It was spotlessly clean and hygienic and the golf prices were incredibly affordable, making it possible to play every day. Children were welcome to use the driving range or the nine-hole course, both of which were excellent. The food options weren’t the best overall but La Grill, the flagship restaurant, was outstanding. It didn’t disappoint and I’d love to return. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout, always helpful. The pool was a great size with a deep and shallow end, catering to both children and adults. There was a pool bar nearby and unlike many other resorts, the pool beds didn’t have towels on top. Instead, staff provided cushions upon arrival and returned them upon departure, ensuring we always had a sunbed. The location was convenient, allowing easy access to various destinations. However, Uber was incredibly cheap and Uber Eats offered a wide range of food options. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely return in the future."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Rooms were clean. The location was perfect. Right across the street for the beautiful beach and in the perfect location for nightly strolls. Lots of shops and restaurants. There was a convenient store in the back of the hotel with baked goods, meats, cheeses, fruits and vegetables. Breakfast buffet was amazing!! Looked forward to it each morning! The Marina is a short walk to catch the tour for the Bengali cave tour. Would highly recommend this hotel!"

"We had a two bedroom apartment on the 5th floor that was really nice, large, clean and modern. Room cleaned and made up every day. All staff are friendly and helpful. Pool was nice and always managed to get a sunbed, pool bar not too expensive either and has a happy hour every day. Car parking is not an issue either with plenty of spaces across two levels."

"Overall, the Iberostar Lagos is a decent hotel in a beautiful location, but I would rate the experience closer to 4 stars than a true 5-star resort. The scenery and proximity to the beach are fantastic, and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were wonderful, especially João, who provided exceptional service and deserves recognition. For the price, however, I expected better service. Pool service was very slow, and we often waited a long time before anyone approached us. Our original room faced the parking lot and construction area, and the balcony door would not close properly. We paid an additional €50 per night to upgrade to a beachfront room. Room 107 was beautiful and clean, but unfortunately had an extremely strong sewage/septic smell that lasted throughout our three-night stay. Most disappointing was that the front desk appeared to already know about the smell, yet we were still given the room and nothing meaningful was done after we raised the issue. In my opinion, Room 107 should not be occupied until the problem is fixed. Beautiful property and location with some excellent staff, but paying 5-star prices plus €50 per night for an upgrade and spending three nights smelling sewage unfortunately did not feel like a 5-star experience."

"Good location and great access to the beach and Alvor town. We had a great weekend away, but for the money we paid the property was quite tired, old and needing some renovations. The food was good (at the bar - buffet was underwhelming). Free car parking and WiFi appreciated."

"Our room was very clean. The lobby and pool area and cafeteria was very clean. The staff were very polite and helpful. Even though our room did not overlook the beach, it didn’t matter. Our room overlooked the apartment behind us but it was good. I would definitely stay here again."
