Marina Club Suite Hotel

"The hotel is located a little farther from the center, but that’s something that travelers should know. The building was awkwardly accessible walking through the pool and everyone in it, but other than that it was still accessible. The room was mainly clean, the curtains were a little dirty, but it really isn’t a big deal as you spend the day out and about. Staff was kind and accommodating."

"Really nice place in a good location at the far end of the beach which was a five minute walk away and close to some nice beach front restaurants but fairly quiet and away from the noisier areas of Praia da Rocha. Rooms were spacious and well maintained with side on views of the river and passing boats. Breakfast/dining area was great with options to sit inside if too hot or outside on a terrace overlooking the marina and river traffic. The quality and choice of food at breakfast was excellent. The pool is pretty big which meant it didn’t feel crowded with three or four small groups of people playing throw and catch. There was also plenty of sun loungers. The downsides … when we arrived at 3.30pm one of our rooms was not ready. We were told it would be roughly 30 minutes but it was over an hour before we gained access. We managed because we had two rooms booked and were given a drinks voucher for the inconvenience. But arriving at that time we didn’t expect to have to wait. Which leads to the other negative point. The cleaning system was disorganised and meant that our rooms were not always cleaned when we wanted. We went out at 10.30 one day and returned at 5.30 to find our room had not been cleaned despite having the sign on our door. On other occasions, the cleaning was pretty cursory - limited to towels being folded and the bed made. Not the end of the world but slightly disappointing."
