pour les amoureux de la nature !

L'hotel est perdu au beau milieu de la montagne ; c'est très calme et surtout fréquenté par les pêcheurs. Nous avons été très bien accueillis et l'hotesse s'est pliée en 4 pour nous donner satisfaction. Excellent petit déjeuner très varié. Parking à disposition et belle vue sur le lac. Inconvénient : nous avons eu du mal à trouver l'hotel car les quelques pancartes existantes indiquent "POUSADA" et non le nom de l'hotel. D'autre part, gros problème avec l'eau qui passait du très chaud au très froid... Attention à ne pas laisser les enfants se doucher seul.

Two nights at Santa Clara

A very beautiful hotel. The room was lovely, and had pretty views. The odd thing was nobody was there except us and a little tour bus. When we arrived, no one at reception. It said to ring bell. No bell there. We called Ola a few times, and eventually someone arrived. Didn't say hello. The restaurant was not open, except for the included breakfast. Breakfast supposed to be 8-10. We arrived 8:30 and not set up yet. The breakfast was quite good though. Second morning, instead of buffet, the woman brought us what we wanted some the only guests were us and one other. The wall showerhead squirted all over, including over the shower curtain. Luckily there was also a handheld shower option. Hot water took more than 5 minutes to arrive in the shower. Again, lovely place, but they seem to be struggling, even though trying hard. Location could be the issue as it's isolated.

Das Hotel hat einen super schönen Ausblick, ist jedoch sehr abgelegen, es gibt keine Essensmögkichkleit in der Nähe. Leider ist das Hotel auf keinen Fall 4 Sterne Wert. Der Service ist sehr schlecht und unkompetent, dass Essen ebenfalls nicht sehr gut. Leider sehe schlechtes Preis-/Leistungs Verhältnis. Sehr Schade!

A beautiful setting and a nice place but there was very little atmosphere, very few staff around and the food was poor which is probably why very few people ate there in the evenings - adding to the quiet odd atmosphere. No drink making facilities in the room. The pool was small, and the little area where food/drinks could be ordered was never open. It had all the opportunity to be excellent but fell short. A shame. We left a day early.

Séjour pour les amateurs de paix et quiétude

Cet établissement surplombe le lac de Santa Clara offrant de ce fait une vue splendide sur tout le paysage environnant. Loin de tous bruits, c'est un séjour idyllique pour qui recherche le calme. Un jardin d'arbres fruitiers, ouvert au public, permet de déguster, pêches, nectarines, poires....directement depuis l'arbre. Ballades pédestre assez aisées. Et la patronne de l'établissement est particulièrement attentionnée, nous avons apprécié cette dame. Elle a contribué amplement à rendre ce séjour agréable. Les mêmes remarques vont au personnel. Seul petit handicap, si ce peut en être un, c'est que cette région est particulièrement isolée et qu'il est difficile de trouver d'autres restaurants à proximité à moins de parcourir 20 à 30 km. Sauf un qui se trouve à 6 km environ, offrant une cuisine portugaise de bonne facture. Le littoral est à environ 1h de route.

It’s all about location and the setting for this hotel is simply wonderful,the views over the lake on one side and then views as far as the eye can see on the other. The swimming pool area is quiet with good beds and umbrellas although if hotel busy guess would be a bit of a rush to get a brolly. The bar area poolside is basic to say the least and not always staffed. The bar area in the hotel again hardly ever staffed and the same goes for the restaurant. Lovely room perfectly adequate,clean and glorious views over lake. Difficult choice to make for room ones with lake view do not get sun from about 11 The hotel has huge staff shortages and those that are there are helpful smiling and lovely....but it’s simply just so annoying that you can’t get the service you want when you want it. No menus for dinner,just two choices,no prices displayed for food or drinks,you order and it appears on your bill and not that itemized either,which is simply not acceptable Breakfast was ok a very simple buffet style which was perfectly adequate..HOWEVER we managed to forget this as the quiet tranquility and views and just the ability to ‘relax’ made the stay perfect. It’s a drive to nearby Santa Clara and this is a very very basic village,yes it has a petrol station two bars and two shops ..but no restaurant,nearest is in Odemira quite a drive. To sum up this could be a simply stunning hotel,but at the moment it needs some serious management and staffing improvements.

Terrible stay

I was charged at the property for my stay - despite having paid through Hotels.com and having this proof with me. A water pipe burst and the owners showed no sign of getting this fixed or compensating me for the fact that there was no running water (so no shower, toilet, etc) from 6.30pm. There was no restaurant facility to purchase dinner from, and as there is nothing in the area either this was extremely inconvenient and inconsistent with the description.

Excelente local para descansar

Ficamos 4 noites para descansar. Com o calor extremo (acima de 40 graus), a maior parte do tempo foi passado na piscina, que é muito boa. O local é muito sossegado (e isolado), com uma vista excelente a toda a volta (albufeira e montanha). O pessoal do hotel é muito simpático e disponível. O ar condicionado é bastante forte, capaz de manter bem fresco os quartos e todo o edifício, o que é muito importante neste local no Verão.

High quality country hotel with amazing views

This is a quality country hotel that is beautifully decorated and furnished with amazing views from every room. The staff were lovely and the facilities are great. I can't recommend it enough and because it is off the beaten track it is excellent value for money. It overlooks a beautiful lake and I even did a circular walk that was challenging but included the cute village of Santa Clara.

Geheimtipp für Naturliebhaber

Ehemalige Pousada, heute als privates Hotel geführt. Gepflegtes, schönes Gebäude in weitgehender Abgeschiedenheit am Santa Clara See. Der nächste Ort ist 5km entfernt. Am See ist das Hotel praktisch das einzige Gebäude. Sympatisches Personal, hifltsbereit. Hübscher Pool.
