After making a reservation through Expedia at Ayvazovsky hotel, I was told at the reception of hotel that there were no rooms available since several days . I was left without accommodation and had to look for another options during the late hours

Blocks from most expensive hotels
The Ayvazovsky Hotel is probably my favorite in Odessa for the casual tourist. I think it is lovely, though not terribly fancy. It is blocks from the port and is close to where some of the most expensive hotels are. Staff speak English and have been very helpful each time I have been there. If several visits isn';t itself an endorsement, Bunina Street X-sects two of the busier streets in the center and is as safe as any place to walk at night. I ate at some very good restaurants. Walk to Opera House is few minutes. If you have chance to go to event in the Opera House, you should. It is clean. Typical European beds. I took the included breakfast outside the hotel at a couple of restaurants the hotel uses as partners. The Pizza place makes better omelets than the Buffalo *this trip."

Perfect hotel!
This hotel was a wonderful, elegant gem in the heart of Odessa. The room was beautiful, spotless clean and spacious. The staff was helpful and spoke English well. The location was perfect and close to the gorgeous Opera building. Breakfast is either brought to your room or you can walk to 4 restaurants closeby. We chose Buffalo 99 and the food was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone traveling to Odessa.

Ayvazovsky - just a great place to stay
The hotel was highly recommended by my colleagues - they stay there on a regular basis during business trips. It turned out to be a great place for a short vacation as well. Cetral location, very friendly staff always ready to help, spaciaous comfortable rooms, quite and cosy place in general, right in the city center, walking distance to key attractions and not far from the beach. There is definately no problem with absence of restaurant right at the hotel - breakfast is served at 2 great restaurants located just round the corner, free of charge. The one most favoured - Buffalo 99, once you visist it for breakfast you will hardly be able to pass it by later on during the day - amazing food, atmosphere, great outdoor dining, staff is just another argumemt for going there.

Just Perfect
I arrived at the hotel a little before midnight because the plane had been delayed by over an hour. The front desk personnel were very helpful getting me to my room and giving me a brief lay of the land and asked if I needed anything to eat. I told them no and during my whole stay they were very helpful in telling me places near by and how to get to those attractions and how and how much the taxis should be. That is good information to know before you get in a taxi and they will help you get one too. I enjoyed myself thoroughly and will be going back. It is just a little ways from downtown and you can walk to most of the sites for sightseeing from the hotel. It is really a good value for your money.

A lovely stay - hotel with a lot of character
A hotel full of character, quite unique, with a coziness given the relatively small size of the hotel. Location is good too, and being slightly away from the buzz adds to its character too. I was undecided between this one and the Mozart - which is more centrally located across from the opera house but at the end, we were really pleased with our choice.

Wonderful hotel in Odesa. Highly recommend.
This is a wonderful hotel in a central location in Odesa. The staff is amazing. The day I got there was super hot and much of the city was in the midst of a blackout. Since the AC kept going on and off (my room was comfortable the whole time), the desk staff gave me a coupon for 100 hryvna off a meal - which covered the whole thing - at an affiliated restaurant. This is also what you do for breakfast, either have it delivered to your room of 70 hryvna at one of two close restaurants. I found the 70 more then enough for an entree (scrambled eggs, omelets, etc), and a cappuccino each morning. The last morning, I had an early flight and the staff delivered my breakfast before the "official" start time to make sure I got a bit to eat before making the flight out. The rooms are spacious, there is wireless internet and a minibar (with the most reasonable prices I've ever seen) in each room. There is also a computer with a printer that can be used to check email, print out boarding passes, etc. I had the hotel order me a taxi to the airport and it was only 70 hryvna (less than $9). Finally, the art on the walls by Ayvazovsky was just super cool. On a trip through eastern Europe, of the 5 hotels I stayed at, this one was by far the best. I would definitely recommend.

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, good rooms.
The rooms are very good, the location in downtown Odessa is excellent and convenient to everything. The rooms are very nice and clean and comfortable. The only thing missing is an onsite restaurant or cafe.

The hotel it self and the staff were great, but be careful if you are looking for quitness, there is club down stairs and on firday and saturday night very loud. And the walls between rooms feel very thin!

A really wonderful hotel. The friendly service was impeccable. All the staff spoke excellent English and were very patient with our attempts at Russian. The Hotel itself is beautiful. Perfectly maintained and a real pleasure to stay in. We went there on our honeymoon and would absolutely recomend this hotel for couples, families, business travelers and anyone who appreciates a quiet and beautiful place very close to the centre of town. Wonderful. And great value for money.

Cozy, Quiet Hotel In Downtown Odessa
I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel, 4-11 February 2011. It is right downtown Odessa, within easy walking distance of many attractions, restaurants, clubs and shops. Even though it is on a busy street, I didn't hear any street noise at night and my room (#205) was in the front of the hotel. I had a "junior suite", which is just a larger room and not multiple rooms. However, the room was very good-sized, with a very comfortable oversize double bed, a desk with chair, two other chairs with a small table between them and a TV. I didn't watch much TV because there were no English language channels available. The closet was large and had drawers. The bathroom was rather small and just contained a shower, no tub. But it was very adequate and always had plenty of hot water. There is no restaurant, but you are given a voucher to use at a couple of local restaurants, within a few blocks of the hotel. I ate in both of them and they were quite good. The voucher is worth 70 UAH, which was about $8.80 USD. There is a Western Union office and a place to change money, right next door to the hotel and there is a small grocery store a little less than two blocks south of the hotel, on the same street. The hotel is very nicely decorated, with many beautiful oil paintings and carpets and drapes. It also has a small, but good elevator. The best thing about the place are the front desk clerks, Olga, Sasha, Anna and Igor! They are very friendly and helpful and answered my many questions during the time I stayed there. All spoke English and I had no problems conversing with them. If all hotels had personnel like these folks working at them, it would be a real pleasure to stay there! I had a good stay there and I would stay there again and recommend it to anyone. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it doesn't have a restaurant and bar and pool.

Outstanding location and a great hotel
Loved the hotel. Staff speak english and are very helpful. Great room , loved the shower, bed was good. The personal safe should be located so you are not on your hands and knees to operate. Slowest elevator ever. And in the two weeks I stayed there, the Wifi quit 3 times. These are small items in relation to the overall stay I had there. I will stay there on my next trip to Odessa.

Very good hotel in the city center
Excellent hotel right in the middle of Odessa, excellent location and the staff is very helpful. They either serve you breakfast in the room or give you a voucher for the 2 nearby restaurants where you can have breakfast. The only downside is that the A/C went out for 1 day in the middle of August, that was hard to bear. Also, the cleaning stuff reluctantly gives extra towels.

Отель отличным, за исключением лифта, который находиться между этажами, начиная со второго. Поэтому Вам в любом случае прийдется носиться с чемоданами. Также, в номерах нет чайника, кофеварки, мини бар пуст. Ничего лишнего.

Muy bien situado, cerca de todo. Muy bien cuidado. Solo dos pequeños problemas, uno, no tienen restaurante propio y se tiene que pedir a domicilio y la comida llega fria. El otro, el colchon miy aguado. Igual regresaria porque me gusto mucho todo lo demás. Atencion del personal buena, aunque no todos hablan ingles.
