Large country property in beautiful setting. Enjoy wildlife yet be close to all amenities in Huntington, Barboursville and even Charleston WV . Beautiful in any season. Excellent for Retreats or Reunions, even out of town Wedding guests.

Possibility to add Jenny Lind twin w/trundle to either bedroom ($40 extra per booking).

Far North Farm & Events is approx. 1 mile. This is a wedding venue available for elopement etc. My property would be ideal for pre or post wedding stays. Or, if not a true “elopement,it is a wonderful place for out of town family or friends to stay.
Oars or Ours Kayaks in South Charleston (40 miles) rents Kayaks & SUP Boards for extended days and will deliver.

Beautiful Property

We loved this historical building. The interiors were beautifully redone. It was nice and private as well. We were able to relax and have fun here with no issues. There was plenty to do in a short drive away for fun day trips as well.

Beautiful River Home

Sydney has a beautiful home on a gorgeous property. We loved the porches and having plenty of space in the house with tons of nice little extra touches. We look forward to staying again in the future.

Great stay

This is our third time staying at this property. It's very large and beautiful. There is plenty of room for everyone to stay. Peaceful and quiet property and our host is always very helpful and accommodating and easily reachable if we have any questions. We will be back again next year! :)

Great retreat

Spacious, quiet, and scenic enough for a writers' retreat for two couples and a dog. The house was welcoming from start to finish with everything we needed including little notes on anything that could be confusing. Will be perfect for a peaceful week away once Frontier figures out Internet load balancing on Sundays.

Wonderful Gem

The house was wonderful and charming. We ended up calling a group of friends to give them a tour of the house because we were so impressed. The pictures online don’t quite capture how charming and peaceful this property is. My group of friends were all delighted and would be glad to come back as we travel around this area often.

Relaxing week in West Virginia

We absolutely loved our stay at Sydnee’s beautiful home. Sydnee was accommodating and responsive. The house is such a gem and the stay was fun and enjoyable. The boys loved fishing in the pond and everyone enjoyed the porches - they were used daily to watch the deer, geese, squirrels, rabbits and birds- this is a nature lover’s dream! We also enjoyed star gazing at night. It was a much needed break from the city life and we most certainly hope to stay in this beautiful home again. Thanks for a wonderful week of beautiful family memories that are priceless!

Relaxation 101

This house just oozes history, good times, and relaxation! We also stayed here in 2022, but enjoyed it this time even more. We spent lots of time on the front porch catching glimpses of the sun or moon reflecting off the mighty Ohio River, watching for deer, and visiting with family. Sydnee is a gracious host and made us feel very welcome again this visit. We accidentally left some clothes behind and she called to tell us before we got very far away so we could go back to get them! We hope to stay here again next summer!

2023 A Time to Remember

The Ohio River Manor was more then we could imagine. The people (Syndee and Chuck), the ambiance and the energy of the property was as close to divine intervention as one could find. Thank you for sharing with us.

Peaceful retreat in a beautiful riverside setting

This property is beautifully decorated 19th Century gem in a nicely green country setting on the Ohio River. The parlors and sitting rooms are gorgeous and reflect the owners great taste. Swing music was on the sound system as we stepped back in time. The formal dining room and huge kitchen helped us host a tea gathering. We wish we could of stayed longer playing Bocci on the fresh cut lawn. Wonderful visit, and the host is superb! My family thanks you, we hope to return for a longer stay.

Cousins Weekend

What a fantastic location. We enjoyed walking the property and viewing the river below. The inside of the home was exactly what we wanted, in fact, it was hard to leave the place. We felt at home. The kitchen is so well appointed that we were able to prepare most all of our meals there. It was easy to get to downtown Huntington to explore. Sydnee is a wonderful hostess and most gracious when I lost my wallet, she said we could stay an extra hour while we worked with authorities. Lost it downtown. Found it!!

Dated Home by the River

Property was very personal to the owner, with family pictures and “down home” decor that was family oriented. Feel of the property was “step back in time.” The property heating and cooling was a little difficult but that was able to be adjusted to the fall temperatures yo-yo. We took our pets, and they seemed very comfortable in the surroundings.

WOW! - This place made our trip so much better!

We stayed at Sydnee's place for 2 nights and would have loved to stay longer. Sydnee shared the history and pictures of the rehabilitation of the house and it was fascinating. There were little things in the house that could use sprucing up but the house and Sydnee made our trip very enjoyable. The kitchen provided EVERYTHING you can imagine from Pots & Pans to appliances that you just do not see in a VRBO. Thank you Sydnee for sharing your piece of history and we are all looking forward to renting again!

House is beautiful, property is beautiful, host is very accommodating and readily available. We got to take our pets with us which is mandatory for us because we don’t board. This is our second stay and look forward to the next. Can’t say enough about what a gem this property is.

Sydnee has a beautiful home and property and is an extremely accommodating host. Very family friendly with lots of toys and things for little ones. Rooms and common spaces were clean and inviting, and the kitchen was very well equipped. My friends and myself had a great time on our trip in no small part to having an awesome home base. Will definitely try to book again if I find myself travelling to the area in the future.

Motorcycle trip in West Virginia

Christmas Get Away

Almost Heaven

A wonderful mixture of home and grandeur. In regards to previous comments of outdoor repairs needed, of course a property of this type is always needing something. We are so thankful for our stay.
