"When I got there I was given a different unit than described. It would not work for my situation. The desk corrected it by giving me another unit. That did not work as well. Guest services got involved and upgraded our reservation to larger condo and it was perfect. I highly suggest always checking out your condo as soon as it’s available. Fortunately we were able to do all this switching between three units around noon instead of after 4 pm. The normal check in time."

"Pluses1) Great location. Walking distance to Ohiopyle State Park offices and the town 2) The room is very cute. 3) the grab and go breakfast was very adequate. 3) directly across from a tiny little church that we attended on Sunday & everyone was so sweet. 4) cute front porch with some limited seating. 5) very clean Downsides: 1) the mattresses and pillows are horribly uncomfortable. One mattress actually had a deep groove in it so you were either stuck in the valley or had to climb up a hill to change positions in the bed all night long. 2) there is no one to even ask for extra pillows 3) the WiFi is horrible and goes in & out constantly. 4) there is one tiny light dim in the entire main body of the room, so you can’t see in the main body of the room if you wish to do anything that requires vision except watch TV unless you have brought your own supplemental lighting. I like to hike all day and do needlework in my room at night … but you can’t actually see. 5) there are no drawers for your possessions nor is there a luggage rack to sit your suitcase on which means living your suitcase on & off the floor constantly. For 2 nights it was ok, but I’m not sure I’d stay again since neither of us got a good nights sleep since the mattresses and pillows were so hideous."

The River House - Historic Retreat in the Heart of Ohiopyle!

"Very cute old house that is reasonably maintained on the inside. The sleeping situation was the worst part of our stay. The beds in 2 of the rooms were not very comfortable, but the third room with the more comfortable mattress was very hot and didn't receive good airflow from the a/c. It is in the middle of ohiopyle, so there are street lights everywhere and only lacy decorative curtains on all the windows, so it didn't get dark in the rooms at night either. We tried hanging blankets up but there are so many windows that it wasn't effective. It would be nice to have the option to close curtains for privacy and to shade out the streetlights. This is something the owner of this property obviously has no control over, but the firestation is right next door, and one night while we were sleeping an extremely loud siren went off twice, and a couple other nights it went off at least once. After looking into it that's a normal thing in some small towns in PA, but it was extremely jarring. Overall the house worked well for us, as we were able to pick a bedroom that was the most comfortable, because it was just two of us and our dog."

"Overall a very nice stay. Location is excellent. Much more than I needed but it was the only thing available. It's better suited and more reasonably priced for a party of four or more. Andrea, the owner, was very responsive. Two minor issues: the double beds were not very comfortable, and the bathroom sinks were inconveniently high for a 5'3" person, but not a deal breaker."
