The hotel is fairly functional. It is a little distance from the station but there were shuttles. There isn't much in the way of bars or restaurants nearby and it seems that the hotel bar may be in the annex. The staff were very helpful and overall the hotel did the job.

Old Blackpool hotel in Beppu - JKS
Poorly misrepresented with inaccurate photo of the 'ANNEX' hotel & NOT the actually Sun Valley. A long way from the 'Beppu Station'. Badly run down & worn, but it was clean. It was 5 times more than other hotels which was the main reason for the unhappy review. If there was nothing else & it was correctly valued then we would not have felt so duped. We even put in a formal complaint to get them to correct the description.

My room for a single guest was quite spaceous and clean. The public bath was outdated and the amenities for females were simply basic. Hitel location is a bit far from center.

OK stay but problems with the room
The hotel is in a convenient location but not in the city centre. In general, the hotel facilities are nice and the breakfast was good. However, our family of three was booked into a double room with no option for a cot or floor mattress, so there wasn't enough space for all of us on the bed, and one of us had to sleep on the floor. The bed itself was very hard, so not much better than the floor. Perhaps we were just unlucky with our room, as we were fairly satisfied with the other aspects of our stay.
