Nice property just off the main street, near train station. It is pet friendly with 3 resident cats roaming around the lobby. You get to book 2 sessions at the baths after checked in, the semi open bath on the 2nd level is popular, while the rooftop bath may not be a good idea in cold weather although the view is great. You get free use of the bicycles for your stay. There is no lift so you have to carry your luggages up and down the stairs.

I’m very disappointed with the onsen arrangement at this hotel. Although they got 3 pools, guests are only allowed to reserve 1, which is misleading. What’s the point of multiple pools if we can’t actually enjoy them? In a normal onsen hotel, guests can use the baths at least twice during their stay. However, this reservation system effectively limits us to just one session, which significantly reduces the experience. Some of the available slots even overlap with dinner time, forcing guests to choose between dining and the onsen experience. The booking system is also inconvenient. If you arrive late, all good time slots are already taken. Some available slots even overlap with dinner time, forcing guests to choose between eating and using the onsen. The so-called “free” onsen time is scheduled in the middle of the night, which is impractical. This would have been acceptable if clearly stated in advance. Unfortunately, the hotel description does not make this restriction clear—otherwise, we would not have chosen this hotel. Additionally, there is a safety concern. All room doors open outward into a very narrow corridor. My mother was hit by another guest opening their door, which is dangerous and unacceptable. Overall, the system is poorly managed and does not provide the relaxing and safe onsen experience expected.

I felt very uncomfortable from the beginning to the end. The room was stinky, and the smell didn't go away despite I used the AC and I left the window opened. The tatami was dirt and in general the clean conditions were terrible. I was happy I stayed in this structure only one night. I don't recommend this place.

My room smelled musty. Staff were not knowledgeable and could only do the basics required for check-in. Dinner and breakfast were assembled as none of the staff could do more than make rice in rice cooker. Staff dressed more casual than tourists. The only positives are the rooftop bath and the bikes.

We booked a western style room with ensuite. The room is suited to people younger and smaller than us. Staff were friendly and carried our bags up to the room for us. Beds were too hard for us (we like firm) and chairs too short for comfort. The toiletseat was toosmall for a large male. None of these issues for us would bother smaller, younger people.

In the promotion of the hotel they mentioned the cost of ¥65.000, with a big discount. The room we stayed is not a ¥65.000 room It is a lay. The staff service was not good, besides the fact that nobody was in the front desk, you have to call them (bell) every time. Very unprofessional. My family and I often go to Yufuin. We WONT stay again in that "ryokan".

The hotel gives a lot of restrictions such as onsen requiring booking until free access from 9.40pm to the morning, 2hrs for free use of bicycles, bring your own paper cup (provided in your room, one per day) if you want coffee from coffee machine down stairs, no lift… I booked the hotel 6 months in advance at the price of aud365 per night and found the price dropped to aud122 if I had booked just few days in advance. Not value worth!
