Easily one of the best renting experiences I've had in Old Lyme over the span of visiting in the summer for 10+ years. Dimitri was great, the cottage was the perfect distance from the beach (about a 2-minute walk!) and it was incredibly comfortable. We spent 3 nights here and would love to stay even longer in the future.

This cottage was just what we needed. We have a Internet free few days which was awesome. They had a deck of cards in the house and our 18 year old taught the 8 year old how to play solitaire. The cottage was in walking distance from the beach. Nothing to complain about.

Great beach retreat!

We booked last minute as we decided to join family staying in Old Lyme. This cottage was just perfect for our needs. My husband and I along with our 19 year old stayed here. Clean, newly remodeled and amenities to meet our needs for a 3 day beach retreat. Simple, but practical. Close to beach and a/c was a treat during the heat wave! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Only stayed for two nights, wish it was longer. Excellent little cottage less than a minute from the beach. It was a chilly weekend but the cottage was toasty warm. Very well maintained and spotless clean. Dimitri was an excellent host and very welcoming. He even brought gifts for my two grandchildren. Will definitely be back.

Quaint and CoZy

Very intimate cottage setting, lovely beach scenery, walking distance to the beach, feet away from hearing the crash of the waves. Short drive to grab whatever you have forgotten or need to enhance your stay in this tiny home. Great location to unplug, energize, and bond with your family. You can create the quality time you miss out on in the world today, you will not have the distractions of television, internet, or gaming.

Nothing in the house appears newer than 1940. The bed sheets and blankets are threadbare, pilly, and appear to be goodwill castoffs. The few pans to cook with were aluminum with lots of wear and the utensils were thrown into a box in the cupboard and were old, various metals, all with the finish worn off. There was no hot water for the children’s baths. My grandson has health issues and we could not risk using the cooking, eating and other things in the space. The walk to the beach was delightful. We had booked 3 nights and unfortunately felt we had to leave as soon as we could. We left by 9:30 AM. Very disappointed.

Great little cottage. Had enough room for us (4 people) for a few days. We had a great time at the beach which was not too far of a walk for us. We enjoyed the house and the area. Great trip!

The owner is very nice, however the cottage was incomplete as there is still particle board showing in the closets, pipes exposed in the bathroom, and outlets that were not closed. Once this place has some tender Love and care and by that I mean fixing up then it will be more of a comfortable stay. You can’t beat the walk to the beach! The beach was beautiful and we really enjoyed our time there.

The property was okay except washer & dryer were out of order and hot water wouldn't stay a steady temperature, also the toaster didn't work. But the major issue we had was with a schizophrenic man that lives next door who was intimidating us and was very angry, he even came right up in the front doorway when we were in the house. Talked to host about man having a key to the place and not feeling safe to spend a second night. Host knew all about man but would not refund our second night, so we went home a day early in fear of being victims of this crazy person.

We were really hoping for a cozy getaway, but this cottage was a huge disappointment. While the owner was kind, the property is simply not fit for guests—and certainly not for anyone with a baby. The house felt unsafe: it was noticeably slanted and appeared to be set on top of loose cinder blocks. It felt like a lived-in old home, not a clean or properly maintained rental cottage.We walked in to find a peanut butter jar on the counter, half-used soaps and shampoo in the shower, and old food left in the fridge and freezer. The bedrooms had walls so dirty you could see footprints and grime. The listing also claimed air conditioning, but there was only one unit in the living room, leaving all the bedrooms hot and uncomfortable. On top of that, the photos were clearly edited and did not reflect the true condition of the property.We felt misled, unsafe, and uncomfortable—and we’re requesting a full refund.
