Great little getaway spot

Old Saybrook is a nice little CT beach town and the property is perfect for a small family. Check in and everything was very easy and the hosts are super responsive if you need anything or have any questions. We'll definitely be going back when we need a couple of days away!

Great family beach getaway!

This was a great spot for a beach vacation with our three daughters (ages 6, 4, and 2). Amazing location right around the corner from a playground, 1 block walk to Knollwood beach, 2 minute drive to town beaches with great sandbars for kids to play at. The house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed! We loved all the outdoor seating and eating options available as well. Host was wonderful and a verty good communicator. We would definitely love to plan a return trip!

Perfect autumn weekend in Old Saybrook

We usually stay at Shannon’s lovely home for a week in August. This is the first year we decided to come up for a long weekend and it was amazing. The weather was perfect and we were able to play tennis both days and catch a show at The Kate (also an incredible experience that was a first for us.) Sunsets on the beach were gorgeous and the water was serene. My new favorite time on the Connecticut shoreline :) Thank you!

Worst travel experience of my life. Left within an hour. The property is not well maintained in any stretch of the imagination. Owners are rude and uncompromising. They kept my entire fee even though I was there for less than an hour. The windows appeared to be cleaned with grease.

I mentioned to Shannon that I had come to Old Saybrook to celebrate my 60th birthday with my daughters. So, after a long rush hour traffic drive from Philadelphia in the drenching rain, Shannon texted that she would leave the lights on for me. When I walked into the house, not only were the lights on for me, but there was a Happy Birthday ballon tied to a tiny cake. I can’t tell you how touched I was at that simple and lovely gesture. The stay was also lovely. Shannon’s home is beautiful and has everything one would need to make an early Thanksgiving dinner with one’s daughters. Even though I had never met Shannon personally, she was very responsive to questions through texts and it really made us feel like it was our own little beach house. The sound is right down the street and we took our dog on long walks on the sidewalk. One thing to be aware of is the beach itself is a private, ‘members only’, so couldn’t, (legally), go onto the sand. However, it was the middle of November and virtually no one was there, so we did go down to walk on the shore. But we didn’t bring the dog, so we respectfully complied with that rule anyway. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed at all with the house or the hosts. I can’t think of anything more they could have done to make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend staying here. P.S. I also recommend Penny Lane Pub!

Perfect Spot

Check in was simple and easy. Host was very welcoming and very kind and helpful. Location of the house was amazing. The neighborhood was so friendly and it was a perfect retreat for my family to catch some rays and venture out a bit. Early morning and evening walks by the water were the best.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at this property. Equipped with everything necessary to cook and bbq, comfortable beds, quick stroll to the beach, tennis and playground 1 min walk away. Highly recommend.

Sweet little bungalow

This beach bungalow is the perfect spot for a family getaway. More than enough room, great location close to beach, and right around the corner from the local playground and tennis courts! Shannon is a very helpful host and is readily reachable at all times. Best of all you can take your 4-legged friend!

Perfect little getaway

This was just what we needed. The house was the right size for our family and within walking distance to the beach which we had all to ourselves during the week. The weather wasn't always on our side but we made the best of it. Restaurants are not too far away either if you don't feel like cooking. Overall it was a pleasant experience and we had a great time!

I went for a quick break away from home/office to be by the sea and the property was exactly as described and I agree with previous reviewers that the house is clean, well equipped and very close to a beach with residents access. Shannon, the owner, was very responsive.

Wonderful owners

Unfortunately Mother Nature had a different plan for our vacation then we had. Power was out for the neighborhood due to a storm at the time we were to be at the house. We did however communicate with Shannon multiple times a day to keep informed. Although our trip didn’t work it was an absolute pleasure working with Shannon and we are planning to try again very soon
