Overpriced
Nice location and nice staff. Room furniture is old and carpet is separated and dirty around the baseboards. I stay in a lot of hotel and this was average and not worth $450/night.
We had a wonderful visit. Our room was very elegant and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful with flowers and well kept shrubs all around.
We had dinner at the inn restaurant. It was delicious, breakfast was most enjoyable too.
We loved it here! Our room was nice and cold on a hot day and very clean! Probably the best nights sleep in a very long time! Our bed was so comfortable!
Property was very nice and staff upon arrival was very helpful in getting us checked in. The room was very nice and clean, and the building overall was charming. The toilet in the room needed service however as we had to hold down the handle anytime it was used, and check out was not quite as friendly and staff felt short and eager to get us out. Not a bad place by any standard, but not unique for what you get for the cost.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Great rooms but the airconditioning is loud and sounds like an airplane in the room. The restaurant is limited and very expensive. No room service but breakfast was an awesome experience and free with room.
This place is a gem and the service was extraordinary. The bed was super comfy and the room was amazing. Unfortunately, we did not have dinner (although the menu looks good). We did have the brunch - which was very good. Next time (and there will be a next time) we'll check out the dinner situation.

Disliked: Amenities
Place needs TLC. Management assured us twice prior to check-in that hydrobaths in rooms worked “wonderfully” but when we tried using it we found it inoperable. Called front desk and manager told us all tubs had been disconnected. Bought us drinks to make up for lie. Dinner and breakfast were very good.
A comfortable, spacious room and bath, and a lovely setting for breakfast. However, portions of the breakfast were overcooked on all 3 mornings. The property has some condition problems: the steps in front of the Comstock House are deteriorating, and the driveway to it is eroding and full of potholes.
Some confusion about the room was corrected quickly. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was lovely. There were some minor repairs needed but, as it’s still the off season, I’m sure they’re on the to do list. The grounds were beautiful and it looks like an expansion is underway. The restaurants food was superb and we could have eaten there every night. Breakfast was exceptional.
The gardens to the East of the glassed in sun porch where we enjoyed breakfast for two mornings are very attractive and obviously well cared for. The sun room itself was an enjoyable setting for breakfast.
The staff members were all extremely pleasant and seemed quite happy to be working there.
Our room in the adjacent building at the very back of the property was very spacious. The bathroom even has a jacuzzi tub besides a spacious walk-in shower. We were very pleased with the accommodations.

From start to finish, this was a great stay. We arrived in time to enjoy a bottle of champagne (which we brought along) seated on the front porch of the entrance. We were pleased to open our room #4 door to a room in the hotel proper, which was large, very clean, bright and sunny. The bathroom has been recently updated with an enormous shower/tub with a radiant heat floor. Toasty warm feet on a chilly fall morning! The breakfast included in the price of the room was beyond expectation, and we were seated in the glassed in atrium portion of the restaurant. The coffee and eggs were excellent, and the service was attentive.
