Traditional sliding doors do not have soundproof, etc. As you noted, we are located on a hillside with no access by car/motorcycle/bikes, so you would need to climb up approx. 370 steps of steep stone stairways. Thank you for your review. Yes, we are located on a hill side with no access by car. Therefore, we do not recommend carrying a heavy luggage. You could either have it shipped to us or to your next destination. Or you could leave luggage to coin locker at JR Sanyo Line Onomichi station. The building is a real 100 y/o traditional Japanese house. Common to the ear, shower rooms are located in the annex building. As you said, there is no restaurant up on the hill. You can bring food/beverages to Miharashi-tei or have meal before you check in if you would like to avoid climbing the hill. We really appreciate you taking time to leave a review Thanks again

Thank you so much for your review. We usually have at least one staff person at the guesthouse, so it is possible to leave a bag if you arrive before 3PM. Some times, cleaning staff may not hear you if they are working very hard cleaning the guesthouse. If you could let us know when you arrive, we could let clean staff know your arrival, so they will hear you. Thank you so much for your review and for mentioning stairs. We started noticing mosquitos, and are putting some bug repellant now. Since Miharashi-tei was built in 1921 and there are still lots of original material used, therefore, as you mentioned, there are many small spaces through which bugs can enter the building. Our café doesn’t serve meals, therefore our overnight guests can buy food and/or drinks and bring them in to the café space (which is a shared space for our overnight guests).
