"We liked that the pool area was strictly maintained and towels were readily available. The food at the Sports Bar was not very appealing. It was mostly overcooked and not enough variety. We had instances with water bugs more this time than before. We know this is the tropics, but maintenance should spray the premises so that guests are subject to bugs crawling in the room both day and night. The room were cleaned as often as needed and always there were clean towels and other items readily available, such as soap, body wash, dish liquid, coffee, and utensils."

Vistalmar Ocean Suites

Vistalmar Ocean Suites

10/10 Excellent
"We Stayed 1 week at the suite #10 apartment style with the private plunge pool. I JUST have to say we absolutely loved everything about this place. Its more like an Air BnB style, sorry if spelling is off fyi I cannot see what I am typing. LOve having our own pool, which btw there are 2 other pools, 1 facing the dock/ocean and another e pool set off in the back with loungers, hammocks bbq. The kitchen has everything you need, they had left over pool toys, the private dock to hang out on was beautiful at sunrise, ...we also ate at the restaurant near by Fish House, at least 4 times, its so close you just walk...everything was delicious. Our absolutely most fave thing was the 3 resident DOGS, ricki, bandita and diva...they were our temporary dogs and spent so much time with us! We miss them so much. Communication was easy, very clean, they clean the pools reg. Great air conditioning, i just cant say enough about this place. So on one note I would highly recommend to rent a car as its located right behind the airport, didnt bother us a bit but the taxi prices are higher in this area....there is not really any stores etc near by so that will help with this issue. Keep in mind this is not a high rise resort, this is a I want to get away from the hustle ...relax at my private pool, hang out by some yachts and chill with dogs...if thats your vibe this will be an slice of heaven!"

Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort

Divi Village Golf & Beach Resort

8/10 Good
"The resort is in really good condition. It was recently renovated. What’s unusual is that you can walk down to the beach but it’s pretty rocky and then there’s just a little bit of sand where there’s a public beach. Next time I would stay in Palm Beach or Eagle Beach."

"We stayed as a family of 5 at this beautiful hotel. The grounds, staff, restaurant & service was top notch! Our room was spacious & clean-the perfect size for all of us. The food & drinks were great. Surfside beach was a short walk across the street. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this hotel. It was very hard to leave :("

Wonders Boutique Hotel - Adults Only

10/10 Excellent
"A quiet gem. Joyful, relaxing, and blessedly removed from the noise—yet everything worth seeing sits within fifteen minutes. Not the choice for travelers who want the center of the action. Very much the choice for travelers who prize charm, taste, and a sense of calm."

What is a historic hotel like in Oranjestad?
Guests who choose historic hotels have a chance to stay in a place that's been officially recognised with a national historic designation. Historic hotels throughout the world have had many former lives and uses, such as castles, stately homes, palaces or even pubs, lodges, old police stations or skyscrapers — any building that's been identified as being of special interest. These types of hotels in Oranjestad often preserve original characteristics like traditional architecture and period features within the guestrooms or public spaces.
What is the difference between a historic hotel and a heritage hotel?
They are quite similar. "Historic hotel" is a term often used in the US, whereas "heritage hotel" is common in Asia and Europe. Historic hotels tend to focus on the building and architecture itself. Heritage hotels draw their meaning mainly from the cultural value and how it shaped the community.

Yes. Every effort is made to preserve the historic aspects and traditions, while interiors have safety features and modern conveniences.
