THE ZION CABIN—Log Cabin Just Outside Zion National Park
Welcome to The Zion Cabin—a newly restored, contemporary take on a classic "cabin in the woods" that sits nestled among the pines overlooking Zion National Park. My name is Patrick, and my Mother and I—along with our loved ones—spent the past 2 years renovating this cabin from the ground up, transforming it from a traditional log cabin to an intentionally-designed modern retreat for our friends, family, and guests from around the world to enjoy. We hope you love it as much as we do!
The Zion Cabin was a true labor of love, with a lot of blood, sweat, and yes, many tears along the way helping to turn this traditional log cabin into an elevated, contemporary space steps away from the eastern border of Zion National Park.
As most people do, my Mother and I fell in love with Zion after our first visit nearly a decade ago, and when the opportunity to call this place our own arose, we couldn't pass it up. When we first stumbled upon this little enclave of mountain homes in East Zion, we fell in love. And this property, in particular, was perfect—the architecture, its hilltop location overlooking the high desert to the south, its proximity to the east entrance of the park—it checked so many boxes. And the cabin itself? It was "fine." But it wasn't amazing. It was a little dated, and it felt like so many of other cabins we've seen throughout our visits to national parks over the years. So we wanted to change it up, and make it our own—a balance of old and new, vintage and restored.
I'll admit that we got in a little over our heads, and a project we estimated would take 4-5 months took over 18 to complete. And what a JOURNEY is has been—we laughed, we cried, and we certainly learned A LOT along the way. We're thrilled with how it all turned out and hope the sense of pride we have in this cabin will be evident to our guests as soon as they walk through the door.

We had an awesome time. Patrick is incredibly helpful and informative. Location is great in terms of accessibility to both east and west side hikes. Not a bad drive out to Bryce either. Highly recommend this venue .
My girlfriends and I enjoyed an incredibly enjoyable trip to Zion thanks to Patrick’s well appointed property. Every detail was accounted for (cleanliness, comfort and convenience) and the location was ideal. Not too far and close enough to access all the adventures Utah has to offer in the Zion.region. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking for an elevated place to stay and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Excellent cabin with fantastic decor, modern and very comfy. Views were amazing. Location was close to east entrance of Zion. Host was helpful and provided good recommendations. Me and my family (wife and three kids + brother in law and wife) enjoyed our stay.
This gorgeous property sits perched on a mountain top just minutes from the east entrance to Zion. The cabin was immaculately clean, thoughtfully equipped, and decorated beautifully. The owner Patrick was quick to respond to any questions and was kind enough to stay up late to guide us to cabin the night we arrived. My only regret is that I had to leave!
The Host had excellent communications and suggestions in the area for meals/groceries and hiking. The house is stunningly decorated and yet very relaxed and comfortable for our family of 5. The details made it a perfect stay. I would definitely recommend this spot, as it was one of the best we’ve ever stayed. Thank you Patrick for your home!
We had a lovely time staying in this cabin. Our group of four friends found the space very comfortable and well-appointed—we enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, taking in the views from the porch, and relaxing in many different living areas. East Zion is much quieter, even over Labor Day weekend, which we appreciated, and the nearby trails are great. Patrick was a perfect host with quick responses and knowledgeable recommendations.
I recently stayed at this lovely vacation rental and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The property was spotless, well-maintained, and exactly as described. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, and the living area was cozy and comfortable. The outdoor deck was perfect for watching the moon and stars. The location was perfect—close to local attractions yet quiet enough for a peaceful retreat. The host was incredibly responsive and provided great recommendations for things to do in the area. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and I would definitely return!
We visit the area every year and the Zion Cabin is hands down the most comfortable home we’ve stayed at. Patrick is an amazing host. Three levels but cohesive. Beautifully curated furniture. Stocked with everything you need for a getaway.
We came to enjoy Zion and hike throughout our stay, but found so much more with this property. Patrick has really put in so much effort in making this home an ideal location if you want something more than what a hotel can offer. The beautiful design, the details around each corner, games to play, the comfort surrounding every room, the beautiful deck… I could go on and on. There are some amazing trails to explore within walking distance, food at the Ponderosa as well. A lovely and quick to respond host as well. It was such a lovely experience, we were truly sad to go home.
Very nice house in quiet development east of Zion National Park. We saw deer every day from our window. There was easy access to the park (easier than entering from the west entrance - but a bit further). There were great hiking trails nearby with fewer people on them than some of the more famous trails accessed from the shuttle in the park. The rooms were comfortable. There was lots of space. The deck received a lot of sun. All in all, a lovely space.
My family and I stayed here for a couple of nights, but honestly, we should have stayed longer. The cabin is absolutely stunning down to the very last detail. Patrick was very helpful and communicated with me if we had any questions. Our family was VERY happy with the location and the cabin. We will definitely be coming back. Patrick went above and beyond in helping me retrieve an item I left behind. He was a lifesaver! Don't September 2024 think twice about the rental. BOOK IT!!! Puebla family
The Zion cabin is absolutely beautiful! The listing pictures are completely accurate. The cabin had everything that we needed and more. We immediately felt right at home. We’d book this cabin again, without hesitation. Patrick gave us a lot of great info and responded quickly.
One amenity to clarify is that there are jetted tubs in each of the full bathrooms, but no hot tub. Also, the coffee maker can brew both drip and k-cups, which was nice (I love coffee). Final tip…The Canyon Overlook trail was a fairly easy climb with the most gorgeous views (our favorite).
What a stunning home this is! It is the perfect combination of rustic log cabin and modern Scandinavian home. Patrick is an incredible host and the pride he has in his home is evident in every single thoughtful finish and decoration throughout the home. The home has three immaculate levels offering separate sitting and lounging areas in each. There are two perfectly appointed master suites and a stunning deck just right for sipping your coffee in the morning or your cocktail in the evening. The home is an east walk to the Ponderosa Resort and for a $10 perp person fee you can use the facility which has too many activities to mention. I highly recommend getting up early and driving up to the Observation Point trailhead for an easy 8 mile (mostly flat) hike to view the gorgeous canyon. It was a great way to start exploring the Zion National Park! We will definitely be back to this amazing home. Thank you for your responsiveness and your incredible hospitality, Patrick!
We had a wonderful stay on the "quiet side" of Zion National Park. The large Zion Cabin is beautiful, upscale and wonderfully comfortable and (near) perfect for a family or friends gathering. Be aware that it is on three levels and the altitude coupled with fatigue from active days of hiking might make the stairs a little daunting for some. As the "parents" and hosts of this vacation, hubby and I took the larger primary bedroom on the third floor - but had I realized how tired I would be some days, I might have chosen the bedroom on the main floor and cut out an extra flight of stairs! Note there is no bathroom on the lower level, so you must be able to climb stairs regardless which bedroom you are in.
Host Patrick was incredible! He was on top of communications and prompt to respond to questions. He also shared suggestions for hikes, grocery stores and restaurants nearby. Although we only communicated electronically, he felt like an old friend.
Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort is very close by with food service, a gift shop and an onsite outfitter offering canyoneering, horseback riding and jeep trips.
The North Rim of the Grand Canyon is about a two-hour drive away - it is a good day trip.
We would definitely return to this Vrbo home (and hope to soon)!
Completely amazing place. Top notch in every way. This cabin is on the east side of Zion so it does take some time to get to the park (about 40 minutes) but that is because you take the most stunning scenic drive along winding roads through the canyon to get to the park. The stars at night are overwhelming. This is one of the best places we have ever stayed. Zion Park is so majestic words cannot describe it.
The Zion Cabin is awesome, beautifully decorated, with nice linens and very comfortable, with everything you need. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We were 3 couples, 6 family members and there are plenty of cute little nooks to spread out and read a book as well as nice areas to all come together. The deck is great. The location is convenient to Bryce and Zion. Patrick the host is super friendly and very responsive. We really enjoyed our stay here. Jan C
The cabin was as described and shown in the pictures. Was a great location close to park entry and all the excursions we did in Orderville. Only item to note is there are a lot of steps in the house so keep this in mind if traveling with elderly or young kids.
This house was every bit as beautiful and well-appointed as the photos show, with so many lovely touches. All kitchen utensils were top brands, and the mattresses and linens were very comfortable. The outdoor porch was a favorite gathering place, but every bedroom has its own sitting area. Our host, Patrick, was very responsive and gave us great restaurant recommendations. The drive to Springdale in Zion was about 35 minutes. We had a spectacular time.
