About this property
Mas Carpe Diem (sleeps 14) with a pool and game room, ideal for families
A former abbey of the 16th century transformed into a wine estate in the 19th century and then recently restored into a comfortable dwelling house while having retained its soul of yesteryear, the Mas Carpe Diem (6 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 1 shower area, 2 separate toilets, swimming pool, games room) is located at the end of a hamlet and offers a magnificent view of the valley from the pool. Calm, nature, sun, relaxation and a lot of tranquility guaranteed.
The geographical location of the Mas is excellent: 3 kms from Quissac (the nearest town), 20 kms from Nîmes (Roman city), 20 kms from Anduze (the Cévennes to discover absolutely), 40 kms from Montpellier, 40 kms from the Pont du Gard, 50 kms from the Camargue (Saintes Maries de la Mer), 30 kms from the beach (La Grande Motte, Le Grau du Roi, Palavas les Flots). You will find in Quissac (3 kms) small shops and supermarkets (Intermarché, Liddl) and markets every day in the neighbouring villages,
For your organisation, here are the details of the 6 bedrooms: - Bedroom 1 on the ground floor with en-suite bathroom, ideal as a master bedroom or for grandparents a little away and especially on the ground floor): 1 bed 140 cm and a sofa BZ convertible for children if necessary, - Bedroom 2 on the 1st floor: 1 bed 140 cm - Bedroom 3 on the 1st floor: 2 beds 90 cm and 1 bed 90 cm to unfold if necessary - Bedroom 4 on the 1st floor: 1 bed 140 cm - Bedroom 5 on the 1st floor: 1 bed 140 cm - Bedroom 6 on the 2nd floor: 1 bed 160 cm + 1 bed 90 cm + 1 bed 90 cm to unfold if necessary
At disposal: 1 cot and baby chair, equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 1 sink stone area, 2 separate toilets, dining room with fireplace, living room, courtyard and enclosed garden (about 500 m2), garden furniture, numerous Lafuma deckchairs, sunbeds, private access path and private parking for 6 cars, fenced swimming pool area (about 500 m²) with private swimming pool (7x5m, flat bottom and 1.50 m deep) secured by approved alarm and access gate,
Fun activities: ping-pong table with rackets and balls, electronic darts, petanque balls (about twenty), professional café table football (BONZINI), GOTLIEB 1977 café pinball machine VULCAN model, casino slot machine (70s), pedal kart for children, 2 bicycles available, many children's games, board games, books and comics available, 2 televisions with TNT
Gastronomic activities: charcoal and/or wood barbecue, LE MARQUIER gas plancha 3 burners, pizza oven that works very well with wood available. Several restaurants near the house will also be recommended.
Tourist activities: You can leave directly from the farmhouse CARPE DIEM for long walks (hiking guides available), by mountain bike (to take with you). And nearby, you can practice golf (several courses in Nîmes or La Grande Motte), horse riding (Mas de SIRE 1 km from the house), canoeing on the Hérault or the Gardon, and even paragliding from the Causse de l'Hortus which dominates the south of the plain. Numerous leaflets ("tourist office" corner in a cupboard in the dining room) are available in the house. Even at the rate of one visit per day, it will take you several days to discover all the sites that are worth the detour without going far. Thus within a radius of 20 kms: the Camisards Museum (Mialet), the Demoiselles cave (Laroque), the Glass Hall (Claret), the Silk Museum (Saint Hippolyte), the Anduze bamboo grove, the little steam train of the Cévennes (I really recommend it: you take the little steam train in Anduze and it drops you off in front of the Anduze bamboo grove that you visit and where you can have lunch or picnic, children love it), the glassmakers' path, the Fork Museum (Sauve), the sea of rocks (Sauve), the Causse de l'Hortus, the belvedere of the Mas Neuf and its surprising compass rose. Not to mention more than 40 winegrowers (AOC Pic Saint Loup) who are always happy to let you taste their production in their cellar (not to be missed because you must have tasted the wines (red and white) of Pic Saint Loup (very tannic wines vinified for the reds from grape varieties such as Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet and old Carignan). A guide to these wines is at your disposal. A little further afield, but not to be missed: Saint Guilhem le Désert and the Pont du Gard listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the impressive Cirque de Navacelles, Nîmes and its arenas, its Maison Carrée, its Magne Tower, and of course Montpellier with its Fabre Museum (one of the most beautiful collections in France), its zoo (free!), the Place de la Comédie in the heart of the pedestrian district of Ecusson, the beach 40 minutes away (the Grau du Roi, the Grande-Motte, Palavas les Flots). Finally, for the bravest, the Camargue, the Canal du Midi, Sète, Pézenas, Agde.
