"This is the cutest little cottage on Lake Winyah. The furniture is dated, but honestly, this just added to its cottage feel. It has all of the home amenities that you will need for your stay. The beds were comfortable. The views are stunning. The host is a sweetheart. She communicated well with this VRBO rookie. It’s minutes from Alpena, making it very convenient. I would highly recommend."

"This is a very old mom and pop motel that has been updated. The room was very clean and had a comfortable bed. Laminate flooring...no nasty carpet. The bathroom/shower is very clean but very outdated but functional. Big Bear Lodge is a motel, central to several parks, shopping and restaurants. If you want a room with coffee, fridge,microwave and air conditioning, central to parks and restaurants this would be a good motel for your next stay."

"This is an old Days Inn motel that was bought out by Wyndham. It has been remodeled and modernized. I love the fact there was still the old school air conditioning in the room and we could actually control the temperature and fan! And kudos for the simple light switch that didn’t require a card to activate. It was a clean, comfortable stay."

"Clearly - these people care about the place and they stay here themselves. Very clean and well stocked. Kitchen had everything you could possibly need - including condiments, spices, oils, baggies, aluminum foil... and so on. Really good toilet paper (wish every place had this), supplies for the washer/dryer, coffee, mints etc. And the lake was much closer than the pictures suggest. Be careful - some of the rocks are pretty slippery. It was great to hear the waves at night. About the only complaint I had was the Detroil Lions grill cover. Makes me question the owners character (Daaaa Bears!)"

"Everything was great.The hosts are VERY generous with their amenities. If you forgot something, chances are they had it, and then some.We love the house, and the location in a quiet neighborhood.The game room was a big hit with the kids.The house is very clean and spacious, they yard has a beautiful view.We cannot wait to go back."

"House was beautiful. Beds were the best we’ve had for n a very long time. Grandchildren were unable to swim due to the lake being really weedy(but not the host fault)."
