Un lugar muy especial, ideal para ir en grupo pues tienen habitaciones para 10 personas para dormir en literas baños compartidos. Pero en mi caso para 1 persona fue excéntrico pues la habitación, Es del tamaño de la cama, literal es la cárcel para una persona, la experiencia muy curiosa.

The room was very clean and surprisingly quiet (I mean, it *was * a Tuesday night in Ottawa). I had the best night’s sleep I’ve had in ages! Bathrooms were clean too. Staff very helpful. And staying in a converted gaol is very cool. Highly recommended!

Once you get over the bit of shock of seeing the property in person this is a LOVELY stay! Super quiet, comfortable enough, very safe. It will push your comfort level just a bit but I had a eye mask with headphones built in and had a wonderful sleep. Just a note that there is no elevator- so be aware of your mobility level. Great stay as a single person going to a conference.

The room was simply dirty. I found hair on the sheets, and the comforter smelled bad. The hallways smelled bad too. The shower was also a bit far from the toilet. I regretted staying at Saintlo Ottawa Jail Hostel. I barely slept, and there was a lot of noise. I do not recommend it at all.

The staff were helpful with providing directions to where you can buy stuff. They gave a tour of the facility and it was fun to participate. They also have other activities you can do as a group depending on your length of stay there. It's not a 5 star accommodation but if you want adventure, go for it. It's also in the middle of downtown Ottawa, so it's close to many resources. It's a good place to do your research, if you don't count the constant movement. I think what clinched it for me was that I could leave my bags at the counter after checkout to go explore the city before catching my flight out. To cap it all, their complimentary breakfast is tasty nothing like the bland tasteless food usually served in hotels.
