Cottage Retreat in the Heart of the Finger Lakes

  • Welcome to the FLX! We've rented our home to more than 300 guests on another platform since 2017 (4.9 rating), and have finally made the switch to VRBO. Our home is located in the rural center of the eastern branch of the Seneca Lake wine & food trail and only 7 miles from the Cayuga Lake wine trail. We provide a centrally-located, quiet, peaceful place to relax in-between your day trips to the local attractions. Make yourself at home, either inside on one of the massage chairs or outside in our 1 acre yard with outdoor seating, a charcoal grill, and a fire pit. Our Ovid cottage boasts 2 inviting bedrooms with 1 queen bed and 1 full bed. The cozy living room features a comfy futon for extra relaxation. Guests can unwind in the soothing bathtub after a day of exploring. With amenities like AC, WiFi, and a washer/dryer, your stay will be convenient and comfortable.

Please make sure all the lights are off and windows are closed, and that the furnace, air conditioning units, and fans are all off.
Please leave used towels and washcloths in the tub. Stripping used beds is very helpful, but not necessary- just leave them unmade so we can tell which were used.
Please ensure all used dishes/glasses/mugs/silverware are washed and either left to dry, or dried and returned to their places. And please return the outdoor items to their places as well. Thank you!
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Please remove your footwear in the house and leave them in the mudroom.
To save energy, please turn AC units off when you leave the house.
While the tapwater is perfectly safe for all uses, please use the RO water (small tap on the right of the sink) for use in the coffee maker and kettle

Very pleased wilth our short stay at this cottage. We were only there for two nights, visiting family nearby. Cottage was well equipped, would have been great to spend a week there and enjoy the comfort more. Hosts were very accomodating and very resonsive when I had a question. Would not hesitate to stay again if we were ever in the area. Cottage was easy to find, had easy access to the property and availablity of 110V outside power I used to charge my EV Car. The kitchen was neat and well appointed, although all we had there was coffee, which the host left for us. All in all it was very comfortable and more than met out expectations.

Fishing trip to finger lakes

Enjoyed the place. Clean and neat. I have a 24' boat so the loop driveway made access and parking easy, which was much appreciated!

I stayed at this property for a month due to damage from frozen pipes at my lakefront property in Lodi. The house was perfectly located, allowing me easy access to my home as mitigation and repairs progressed. I appreciated the 1st floor bedroom, on same floor as the bathroom! I missed having a closet in the bedroom though. The kitchen was very well supplied, and I made frequent use of the washer/dryer combo. I was able to set the thermostat to a comfortable heat and hold it there. With frequent snow showers I was very glad to be able to park close to the front door. February and March were very cold, rainy and snowy. The sump pump in the basement ran a lot, producing occassional damp and musty odors. I admit I was very sensitive to this, as I was dealing with similar issues at my home.
