"An Absolutely Fantastic Stay!From start to finish, this property exceeded expectations.Location & Arrival: The estate is roughly an hour and a half from Heraklion Airport (though budget closer to two hours if the highway construction is still ongoing). The property is set within a gated, private estate featuring 15 beautiful homes perched on a stunning cliffside. Even the drives through the neighborhood are gorgeous.Privacy: The VRBO is situated at the very top of the estate, meaning no other houses overlook your space. Complete privacy was a major priority for our stay, and this spot delivered. You have the entire pool deck entirely to yourself. While there is a separate apartment on the deck level, it remains unoccupied and window-gated at all times (as confirmed by the host).The Space: The interior isn't huge, but we weren't expecting it to be. It is exceptionally cozy, comfortable, and nice inside.The Pool Deck: The outdoor pool deck is very large and wonderful. Tip: Highly recommend paying the small extra fee to have the host heat the water. Even when it’s hot outside, the pool water stays quite chilly without it.The Surroundings: There is a charming small town right down the street (Istro Bay), plus a larger, lively port nearby (Agios Nikolas). The entire area is breathtaking.The Host: Stevia was highly communicative and addressed every question and need we had throughout our stay amazingly!You truly cannot go wrong here. I highly recommend this spot!"

"We have just returned from staying at Elpida Village. The setting is lovely and the views are stunning. The shuttle bus to the beach was very handy. Our room was great, with very welcome a/c. Plenty of space for our clothes too. My only complaint really was that the shower was far too small and I didn't like the shower curtain. I am an average size person and even I found it difficult to shower without flooding the floor. But that was a minor inconvenience. The staff were lovely and extremely helpful. We loved Marina who was working in the bar in the evening. She was so friendly and entertaining. Unfortunately I don't know the name of the lady who served the pool bar, but she was also very pleasant and friendly. The food was very good and there was plenty of it. The waiting staff were a little over keen to clear the tables but we soon got used to that. I highly recommend this as a great hotel for families. We are a couple but found that it was OK for us. We also liked the fact that we could have all inclusive which was well worth the price that we paid. I especially loved the terrace area outside the main party of the hotel where we sat in the evening, with a beautiful tree in the middle and tables and chairs all around just like an old Cretan village square."

"Place was clean, and the views are stunning. There is always plumbing issues for Americans visiting Greece, this is something to be expected. The host, and people taking care of the place are extremely responsive and friendly. We highly recommend this budget friendly location, and cannot wait to return one day. The location is perfect. Come for an extended stay, and enjoy the Cretan life style."

"The villa (Marianna) was exquisite. Overlooking Istron Bay and the Istron Hotel, the view was breathtaking. We were able to use the hotel’s amenities including beach chairs and umbrellas, which was nice. Dimitry was a great host and available to answer questions when they came up. Overall, highly recommend the private villas. Just bear in mind that access to the villas is via the Istron Hotel’s main access road so just enter the hotel as your destination otherwise you may just drive right by (like we did!)."
Villa With Private Pool And Stunning Sea Views

"We had 10 days in this villa in October. Mark kindly allowed us an early check in as the villa was empty the night before our arrival. Instructions were given for how to drive to the villa, but I would request GPS co-ordinates as I don't think we would have easily found the property without that (the road signs that were used as indicators appear to have changed and the right hand turn required is obscured by trees growing near the roadside). From an Australian perspective, the bed in the master bedroom is not a Queen but a very small Double. The mattress in that room is soft and lumpy and not particularly comfortable. The furniture in the living areas is comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked for self catering. The listing needs to be updated as the tavernas mentioned as being within walking distance have both closed, so there is now nowhere to eat out within walking distance. Also, there is now a requirement to pay a Climate Crisis Resilience Tax of 15 Euros per night when staying at the villa. As it was autumn when we were there we didn't use the pool at all, although it looked inviting. Lastly, beware of the cotton mats on the floor of every room - we found them to be trip hazards and rolled them up and put them aside for the duration of our stay. Communication with Mark before arrival was quick and easy, however, after we had arrived I got the impression that questions about the property were not appreciated, so I didn't bother him again."
