Fantastic cabin that fits plenty of people. Great for kids. In a quiet area and well maintained. Everything about this place was a 11/10! perfect experience.
House was everything we asked for plus more! With 5 adults and 2 children (5,3) the bedroom situation and open floor plan was perfect. We cooked most of our meals and the kitchen had everything we needed (minus the spices/condiments). The hot tub was just right - and was so welcome after the cold wet snow play days we enjoyed. The grounds were nicely wooded - providing privacy from the neighbors and some cover for the young elk that gathered to forage nearby. We had good communication with our host -- getting back via the VRBO message service immediately in response to our questions. We would definitely rent this home for our next family trip to Packwood.
Relaxing experience, our dogs loved the river and great locations.
Only feedback is to perhaps make sure all neighbors understand to keep the noise level down after a certain time. Friday night the neighbors to our left side with the tree house we’re playing loud music all day until 9pm at night. It made it hard to enjoy the peace and quiet in the backyard and jacuzzi. As well as, announcing how close the neighbors are to the house due to us having dogs.
Thank you!
I stayed here with some friends and family for a ski weekend to celebrate a birthday. It was an easy 30 minute drive from White Pass and gave off super cozy cabin vibes. Our host was amazing, very communicative and thoughtful. It was the perfect space to host 8 of us plus our dog. There were enough beds to actually sleep 10 people without needing to use an air mattress or a couch, so this space would work well for even larger groups as well. Everything was nice and clean, there were plenty of towels and blankets provided. The hot tub was amazing and additional towels were provided specifically for it too. We even saw a herd of elk out in the backyard one morning while cooking breakfast- saw probably 10 of them just grazing and hanging around! It was pretty incredible. The kitchen was fully stocked, we forgot to bring some cooking spray but besides that they had all the basic necessities. The early check-in and check-out options were affordable and granted you an extra 2 hours each. The community was gated and the house seemed very secure. The garage was a good place to hold our ski and snowboard equipment and there was a mudroom equipped with a washer and drier to dry off our gear too. Would definitely stay here again!
The good: The house was large and accommodated our group of 8 easily. The open floor plan was nice and made the house feel very large. The kitchen was large enough to allow a couple of us to work at the same time and there were plenty of dishes for our use. The pots and pans can use replacement with some non-stick coating chipping off on some pans. We were careful which pans to use and avoid. The rooms were nice and the number of beds a bonus. The location was very quiet and easy to find. The directions and check in information provided was accurate and easy to follow. Check-in was easy and communication with the host was efficient with timely responses. Check out was also easy. We liked the ability to set the temperature in
each room, but the units were a bit loud to sleep through (but we are light sleepers also).
There were a couple of issues with the rental. While the beds were changed and the place was mostly clean, the coffee pot still had grounds in it and the floors weren't vacuumed very well. The host did offer to send the cleaner back over, but we had already taken care of the issues. The beds were plentiful and comfortable, however the master bedroom was the only bed made up with a top sheet. We did find extra sheets and linens in the MBR closet but we've never run into this issue before at rentals.
The location was great for exploring trails at Mt. Rainier National Park. You can drive an hour to get to
Paradise or Sunrise, 40 minutes to Longmire.
This is a great house and location. We stayed here for a family ski trip. It's about 25min from White Pass, and it's a few minutes from stores in Packwood. It's in a gated community, which is a plus. There are plenty of beds. The showers and kitchen all worked well. We used the hot tub every day and it's quick to access and easy to remove and replace the cover.Being winter, it was too cold to do much in the garage, but we did occasionally go out there when someone wanted extra space. We had one issue when we arrived, but the property manager was great about acknowledging the issue and resolving it as fast as possible.Definitely a great property.
Our family enjoyed being together and enjoying Packwood and a trip to Mt Rainier. The home was comfortable and able to accommodate everyone. The parents and children loved the game room, the hottub and watching deer and elk outside the house.

The house was clean, comfy, quiet, and air conditioned which we never expected to need. Seven family members from around the country had a great time catching up. The day’s drive to paradise was beautiful.

Everything was fine. We just wish the owner would allow a later checkout than 10:00. That is too early with teens who had just been hiking the previous day.
Home is beautiful, location is beautiful. Unfortunately there were many issues that created stress. The remotes for the heat, tv, and DVD player had either dead batteries or were missing. Never could get onto WiFi. One bedroom overhead light wouldn’t come on, even after changing out the bulb. One lamp in that same bedroom had a missing switch, so it didn’t work either.
After contacting the host numerous times, he implied that we were the problem because they’d had perfect reviews all summer. After sending the host a text that included all the items that we had had issues with, he said they’d be looked into.
