"Location was very quiet, and the restoration done on the old Sicilian farmhouse was excellent. The room was very comfortable, though the bed was hard as a rock (as is typical). "This hotel was absolutely stunning. We stayed there for my birthday. The grounds are truly beautiful, it’s a really special place. We had the tasting menu one night, would recommend for a special occasion. They kindly upgraded our room which we really appreciated. The breakfast was delicious too. "We arrived feeling stressed after the drive to the hotel! The lovely young lady on the front desk welcomed us with a warm Smile and arranged for the bartender to bring us a drink outside so we could soak up the afternoon sun and relax. We were served a delicious aperol. The decor throughout the hotel is very tasteful even the corridors to the room. Clean white walls but a hint of original brickwork showing. Comfy beds, crisp white linen. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom. Everywhere was spotless. Great breakfast and amazing service. Lovely location just opposite the pretty pebbly beach and around the corner from the lovely streets full of restaurants, shops and wonderful architecture. Would definitely return."

"I was so impressed with how spacious, clean and comfortable the rooms were, not to mention the amazing location. Staff were warm, welcoming and so helpful. I kept adding more days to my stay because I truly loved it here and felt so relaxed and at home. I will definitely be back in the future!"

"We overall really enjoyed our 3 night stay here, and appreciated the quiet and historic charm of this hotel. It is an incredibly unique peace of property, with an attached historic Latomie that was both beautiful and intriguing—we really wished the hotel had access to explore the areas below. We also really appreciated the continental breakfast, and were surprised by other’s complaints in reviews we had read before staying here. It was the most elaborate continental breakfast we have ever experienced, with options ranging from fresh fruit, to delicious pastries, and even eggs and bacon for those with used to a more American meal. We loved the pool as well, however we were disappointed that it was only open until 7pm every day, we would have enjoyed an evening swim. The bar was also closed, though they provided service through the bar inside. We also really enjoyed the 2 for $22 aperitivo offered from the bar. The room we stayed in was small and a bit dated, but met our expectations for an older hotel. We also had issues with the AC not turning off and making our room very cold. We were able to find parking every night, however I would not describe it as a big parking lot, and it was overflowing every night with people crammed wherever they could find room."

"Property is well located and staff was really helpful. If going in a rental, make sure you call ahead of time to register the car with the city and have a parking spot in one of the nearby garages. Parking is definitely scarce in Ortigia. The images from the hotel show a gym, that is a bit misleading."

"Beautiful hotel with wonderful hospitality We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Algilà Ortigia Charme. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, friendly and genuinely welcoming. The hotel is full of Sicilian character and charm, and its location in Ortigia was perfect for exploring on foot. Our room was comfortable and beautifully suited to the character of the hotel, and the staff were always happy to help with recommendations and anything we needed. After travelling throughout Sicily for two weeks, what stood out most was the genuine hospitality. We felt like valued guests, not just another reservation. Algilà was exactly what we hoped for from a Sicilian hotel — charming, personal and welcoming. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Ortigia!"
