Our family holiday home is located on 7 secluded acres surrounded by farmland.
Just one and a half hours from Brisbane or the Gold Coast.
This is a little haven far away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The perfect home base to explore the Scenic Rim, relax and reconnect with family and friends. Soak in the spa while taking in the views of the valley below, enjoy the warmth from one if the 2 wood firesplaces or challenge your friends to a game of pool in the games room.
Set high on the hill, with 360 degree views of the scenic rim valley, and surrounding farmland.
There is room for all the family with 3 queen bedrooms and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds.
There is a large fully equipped kitchen or the Rathdowney Pub is only 5 kms away for hearty pub meals.

Fantastic 10/10 stay at Hilltop Hideaway. Amazing views, peace and tranquillity. The house is so well set up and the spa, pool table, wood burners and outdoor fire pit were enjoyed by all of the family.

Such a sweet spot

Fantastic location!! Up on a hill with good views. Super cosy in winter with the indoor fire places and the fire pit. Do reccomend this place!!!

Our two day stay in Palen Creek was absolutely amazing. The property was beautiful, clean, and well prepared - Vikki and Peter have obviously put a lot of thought into going above and beyond for their guests. We loved every minute of it and can't wait to come back soon!

We loved every aspect of our stay. Far enough out of town with all the necessities. We loved that it is dog-friendly and enjoyed the scenic views, the hot tub, pool table, fireplaces and fire pit. Great getaway with the fam!

Fantastic country getaway highly recommend!!

This property is truly amazing! Quiet, relaxed atmosphere with incredible views from every window and porch area with wallabies and cows literally just out the window. Well stocked and spacious house with plenty of room and the games room is real bonus for all ages. Breakfast on porch overlooking the stunning views, a game of pool or darts, relax in the outdoor spa then have a fire outside in the evening - Gold!! Very friendly and helpful hosts who were easy to contact. Rathodwney only 5 mins away and Beaudesert 25. We'll definitely be back - thank you Vikki!!

Good getaway

It was a great getaway. Downsides were the Spa didn't want to work (heated up but no bubbles), no Wifi that we only found out about after paying for the place (should be listed clearer), and the driveway was precariously steep for a gravel road. The great parts were that it was far more beautiful in person than the pictures show. Very peaceful, secluded, well looked after and had great amenities provided such as fire starters, torch, umbrella etc.

Lovely getaway

This fitted the bill for getting away from the city for a few days to enjoy a great little family break. Kids were very happy to play pool, Monopoly, cards and even read! We loved watching the clouds roll in over the hills and keeping the fire stoked. Would return!

The views are much better than the photos. This house is full of love and has everything you need. To be honest we spent our whole stay outside around the fire pit and it’s was a wonderful family environment: age 11 through to 85!

Perfect stay

Our stay was absolutely perfect! From the moment we stepped out onto the deck, the breathtaking view over the hills instantly put us at ease, filling us with relaxation. We left feeling completely rested and rejuvenated. The games room provided hours of fun, and sitting by the fire in the evenings was a cozy highlight. The host's thoughtful complimentary touches made us feel truly welcome, and their communication was excellent throughout. We hope to return again soon!

Could not recommend this highly enough! A truely stunning location and breathtaking views. The house was so comfortable and had everything we needed and such a great flow of indoor and outdoor spaces, there truely was something for everyone from the pool room, to the spa, to outdoor firepits for marshmallow roasting to warm, comfortable beds. We cannot wait to come back!!!!

It was exceptionally clean and tidy. Tranquility was next level, stunning views, gorgeous little kangaroos around which was such a treat! Birdsong was all I could hear, a super relaxing place. The spa is placed in a fantastic location on the property with beautiful views all around. My only regret is not booking it for longer. I would highly recommend to anyone seeking a peaceful holiday.

An Unforgettable Retreat – Perfect for All Ages!

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful home over Christmas! From the moment we arrived, it was clear that everything had been thoughtfully prepared to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. The spare set of sheets, chocolates, chips, and a few understated Christmas decorations added such a personal touch that truly made the place feel like home.The setting was perfect for relaxation and meaningful family time. It allowed us to connect in ways that are often hard to come by in our busy lives. The pool table became the centre-piece of our stay, bringing together three generations—elderly parents and teenage sons—for hours of fun and laughter.The outside was just as delightful as the inside. Watching the kangaroos and cows was a unique treat, and the spa was the cherry on top, offering a tranquil spot to unwind. The kitchen was exceptionally well-equipped, which made preparing our Christmas dinner stress-free and enjoyable.We cannot recommend this home highly enough. My father summed it up perfectly, giving it "5-plus" out of 5 (while holding up 10 fingers), and the teenagers rated it an impressive 12 out of 10—even without Wi-Fi, which says a lot!This stay was truly memorable, and we are so grateful to the thoughtful hosts who made it all possible.

Great and cozy hideaway

We had a fantastic weekend, it's a beautiful area and the house is really lovely. Please be advised there is no Wifi - I couldn't see that info until just before the holiday. Would be great to have it posted on the booking site. It did however not detract from our amazing weekend. Spa was great and rooms were clean and comfy. Would 100% book again.
