    A 5-minute drive will take you to the Hatcher Pass public recreation area famous for a variety of activities: The fresh white snow is great for cross country and down hill skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and snow-shoeing. Our 19.5 hours of daylight during the summer months provide opportunity for berry picking, fishing, bird watching, paragliding, sightseeing, golfing, or gold-panning! The Independence Mine State Historical Park is a must-see for visitors intrigued by Alaska's gold mining past.

    After adventuring, return to your comfortable "base camp" in its quiet neighborhood at the foot of the mountain. Whether you like to heat up easy snacks or prepare seven-course meals, you can do it in the Fiddle Creek Cabins' modern kitchen.
