An amazing leisure place to stay in Mysore!

Stay was amazing at the Royal Orchid Hotel!!!Great location as it overlooks the iconic Vrindavan Garden;you get down the hotel and you are into the garden; the garden lights up in the night and the view from the rooms balcony is superb!! Nice big rooms with antique furniture, courteous staff. There is no lift so one has to climb a flight of stairs but otherwise an ideal place for a short getaway.

The location is amazing and the staff / food is really great. The only disappointment was that our room was somewhere in the corner which is not have any sort of view. My advice to the hotel is to perhaps not give this room as a king room. Apart from that, the experience has been great.

Watch Brindavan Gardens from your Balcony

The hotel scores 100% for its location. For people visiting the garden from Mysuru or Bangalore there are several constraints for visiting the garden, which all can be avoided if you choose to stay at the Royal Orchid at Brindavan Garden. We could go around the garden on a Sunday morning almost exclusively for us, or view the dancing fountains till the end of the show, without bothering about the transport or dinner. On top of it the hotel has royal ambience, fine cuisine and top notch service.

Heritage building overlooking Brindavan Gardens

Beautiful location set high up overlooking the well maintained gardens. Nice restaurant, bar on veranda with views. Good breakfast with continental and south Indian food. All rooms have verandah overlooking the gardens.

Nice hotel in the garden itself having 24hr garden

We had a comfortable stay with very good staff.Hiwever the rooms need reorganisation bathrooms definitely need minor alterations for safety as akready indicated in the feed back.

Inside Brindavan garden with most beautiful view.

Very courteous front office staff especially Miss Priyanka helping us with info on nearby scenic spots and temples. The breakfast spread was good with tasty food. Overall experience was very good. Planning to visit again with all family members and pet. Keep up the high standard of Royal Orchids.

Room size is not the same as shown on Expedia. Paid $1000 to get the same. Condition of offered room bathroom was terrible. Was disappointing. Complimentary breakfast was excellent. Staff service was below average. I like the heritage of building but was lacking regular maitenance.

PRINT RESERVATION PAPERS TO SATISFY SECURITY CHAPS

Whilst the hotel is right at the Krishnarajasagar dam with great view, very disappointing is the security chaps at the gate who are preventing guests from even entering the hotel. They insist on seeing your reservation, check vehicles, question you etc. so if one is to go to this hotel for a dinner with guests, insults are assured at the gate. The GM apparently tried to calm us by offering an insulting 15% on the dinner!! which I refused to accept. Mattress is so spongy that one will wake up with a terrible back ache. Looks like they have never heard of proper hotel mattresses. Security issue was dismissed as "due to threats at the dam"which looks like the usual excuse when I looked at Tripadvisor.

Grand old charm.

Excellent location right in Brindavin garden. Old style charm but building showing its age. Doors and fixtures fit poorly. Plumbing needs updating. No a/c. Staff very accommodating and attentive to all our needs. Authentic Indian experience

Extremely poor service

I checked in for a night's stay at Royal Orchid Bridhavan om February 3rd 2017. I was accompanied by my wife and 10 year old son. I was in room number 301(left extreme, 3rd floor). I check in around 10:00p. The first trouble started when 5 people came to 302 terrace and started making a lot of notice. From 301 terrace I could see these 5 folks were having booze and were not in control. I waited for 2 hours and since the commotion did not stop till 12:30a, I called the reception and complained. The response was that these folks in 302 were having dinner and if I want the hotel will change my room (around 1:00a in the morning !!). Next day, when I went to take shower, hot water was not coming. The electrician came and confirmed that the heater coil had been kaput for quite sometime. Again the reception guy said he can change my room but refused to admit that they had rented out the room without even checking if there was running hot water !! I have stayed at Royal Orchid Brindhavan quite a few times - actually, I have a Royal Orchid Gold membership !! My observation is this, place (Royal Orchid Brindhavan) is going down in standard. If you want to stay in Mysore or even near the dam, there are plenty of hotels with a much better service. Stay away from this place - that would be my advise.

Great location overlooking brindavan gardens

We stayed there for night during the weekday. The hosts at the restaurant (Couple of interns) were awesome!! They made sure we got the best service always. Food at the restaurant is very tasty. Elephant bar is good for drinks and snacks which overlooks the bridavan gardens. Garden lighting from the hotel is best view one can get. Will be coming back to stay again!!
