Holo Holo Hale (home for people on the go) is a quaint plantation home built in the 50’s; it has belonged in our Ohana (family) ever since. This home sits amongst a bounty of flora and fauna encountered by the sounds of birds, roosters, and the peace of Hawaii plantation country. You can get a peek of the dark blue ocean from the living room window, and the trickling sound of the Aleamail stream . Located in Papaikou on the Big Island of Hawaii (Hawaii Island).
While enjoying the beautiful sunrise, refreshing rainy days, warmth of the tradewinds, and preparing for a new day, why not make one of your adventures 3.4 miles (7mins) down the road to Honoli’I for sea glass or surfing. Hawaii Belt Rd is a minute away for coastal travel to Hilo, Hamakua Coast, or to cruise the island; there’s a faint sound of cars going by.
Holo Holo Hale has two spacious and comfortable Upstairs queen bedrooms, a bath, a large kitchen, an eating bar, many windows, and high ceilings with fans in each room. Large blended open space living room and kitchen. The bath includes double vanities and shower. Accommodates 5 persons (twin airbed for the fifth person). Downstairs one bedroom with a queen bed. Laundry, washer, and dryer downstairs. Expect rooster calls in the morning!
After a busy day of traveling and adventure come back to Holo Holo Hale and park in the covered two-car garage, and up 15 steps into Holo Holo’s front door. Regenerate here, read, write, sit back and relax…this is the vibe here at Holo Holo!
Holo Holo Hale is completely fenced, with a large lush maintained yard. Many plants, grafted trees, flowers, and frequent visitors of chickens and roosters.
Frequent morning and afternoon rain showers, and winter gets a little chillier so grab a throw and cuddle up on the couch.
Holo Holo Hale is a few miles to local Hilo, or Kaumana to Saddle road (or Daniel K. Inouye Highway) to Waimea/Kamuela, Kona. This island is the best place to experience many different climates in a day.
