"Casa Montana is a gem! We stayed there for 8 nights and it is such a beautiful house! We were a family of 4, 2 elderly parents. Since we have been to CR previously, we knew what to expect (driving up an unpaved mountain road in a 4x4). Once we got to the house, the view is breathtaking! You can’t describe it & pictures don’t do it justice!The house is well thought out & well maintained, kitchen is well stocked and the pool is amazing - if you don’t want to leave the house, you don’t have to! The patio is set-up with a grill, sink and fridge (which is so wonderful for when you want to grill).Everyday, toucans were around the house and we even had macaws flying. It was great to see all the butterflies and wildlife around the gardens & house.Alex is a great help with whatever you need and is a great resource. He was very helpful while we stayed there.We went to Uvita beach, Hermosa beach, Dominicalito & Dominical beach (where we were able to ride the waves). We did a cocoa tour in Playa Hermosa which was the best cocoa tour we ever had. We also took the truck tour to get to Nauyaca waterfall. Another day, we went to the Uvita waterfall-a favorite spot for us. We went to an Eco Termales (about 40min away from the house) on someone’s property and it was great.But after every activity, we looked forward to return back to the house, relax, enjoy the pool and the views. It is such paradise & we can’t wait to return and stay at beautiful Casa Montana!"

"Very clean property, the road even in dry season must be treated with caution, especially with a rental vehicle. We didn’t see any wildlife at the property, but that’s nature for you. The local area has plenty of places to eat. The accommodation is very well equipped and private and had a nice outlook of the river "

"We stayed for a little over 4 weeks and very much enjoyed the experience. The house seemed larger than it appeared in the photos we looked at prior to arrival. Everything is modern and the kitchen was better than the average rental house - we prepared many meals while there. We enjoyed walking down to the waterfall for a swim every morning. The sunsets were absolutely spectacular. We paid extra for the cleaning crew to come several times during our stay - wonderful people who do great work, and the price was very reasonable. You do need 4WD, but it’s fun - you feel like you’re on a bit of an adventure😀 We encountered a few minor maintenance issues while we were there - the property management team always responded promptly and the people they sent to the house were friendly and professional. Regarding phone and internet service, the cell signal we got at the house was 1 bar of 3G, and the house has a fast fiber optic and wifi connection, however, the fiber optic connection was not always working (the fiber optic company’s issue, not the property managers). This is perfectly fine for a relaxed vacation but may be a challenge for anyone needing to work or join virtual meetings. We experienced no crime and always felt safe - in fact, the people we interacted with were uniformly friendly and welcoming. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend.this property."

"A nice private location with a nice view of the ocean from the patio and the pool. The check in process was nice with the detailed driving instructions and the door lock with a code. We stayed here for 5 nights and found several nice resturants within a short drive. The pool was great to cool off in the afternoon."

"The location is nice and quiet with a nice view. It was a nice location for a family and the drive up was actually sort of fun. The map location in Vacasa actually took me to the neighbors house who was very kind to point us in the right direction. A few things could be done to make the place better including getting a new grill, the one at the house is rusted out and doesn’t work well at all and fixing the pool light. Overall its a pleasant place to stay"

"We had a wonderful stay at Odyssey Villa in Escaleras. The drive is an adventure, but once you arrive, the house and views are absolutely stunning—photos truly don’t do it justice. We previously lived in Hawaii with an ocean view and agree with other reviews that this view is somehow even more impressive, overlooking a lush green valley and Diamante Waterfall.The setting is calm and peaceful, with magical sunrises and sunsets. The infinity pool was a refreshing way to relax and take in the scenery. Our family was very comfortable, with three bedrooms each having en-suite bathrooms. The primary suite was especially memorable, with a bridge leading to a private deck and incredible views. The outdoor spaces throughout the property are exceptional.We loved seeing the resident toucans each morning. The kitchen was beautiful, well-equipped, and a pleasure to cook in while enjoying the view. While we didn’t use the private chef or on-site massage, they were great options to have.A true 4WD vehicle is essential—the hosts are very clear and correct about this. Our rental AWD struggled, but the hosts were incredibly accommodating. Roberto guided us up on his ATV, Diana welcomed us at the villa, and the property management team was helpful and professional throughout.We highly recommend Odyssey Villa for anyone seeking a beautiful home, unforgettable views, and a touch of Costa Rican adventure."
