Casa Tres Pochotes - Beach Front Paradise

This fantastic property is one of the few true beachfront homes available in Esterillos Oeste. Designed for couples, groups, or families, it offers ample space to gather, entertain, and enjoy cozy afternoons in the spacious living room. The expansive patio and deck with a private pool look directly onto Esterillos Oeste Beach, just steps from the front of the home. With four bathrooms and three bedrooms, all located on the second floor, each room opens to its own balcony overlooking the ocean.
The space
The spacious deck offers a relaxing plunge perfect for cooling off after an afternoon of surfing, shelling, or just walking on the spectacular beach. This beach is perfect for a variety of activities, whether you want to pick up new hobbies or master the ones you already love, it offers world class surfing, boogie boarding, and swimming.
You can literally walk for miles in either direction along the beach and enjoy breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. The west end of the village features a unique lava reef, that emerges at low tide forming natural pools and showcasing the famous mermaid statue. The east side gives the town its name, thanks to the estuary, which is also an excellent spot for fishing.

Tres Pochotes offers 3 bedrooms and four bathrooms:

Bedroom 1, 2 & 3: Each includes a comfortable king bed, a balcony, and a small closet.
One of the rooms also includes a safety deposit box.

Bathroom 2, 3 & 4

Two bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. The third bathroom is across the hall from the middle bedroom. There is also a full bathroom downstairs. There is an outdoor shower where you can rinse off the sand when you come back from surfing or playing on the beach. It's refreshing.

We also offer a laundry room.

Tres Pochotes is not just a house, it’s a cozy paradise for nature lovers. The property is frequently visited by scarlet macaws and occasionally by capuchin monkeys or even sloths. This is a great spot if you want to connect with Costa Rica’s rich natural beauty.

Great beach house!

We really enjoyed our stay at the beach house. The location was excellent and couldn’t be any closer to the beach. The house is also close to Jaco and other towns with many restaurants nearby. We enjoyed seeing and hearing the parrots fly by in the mornings!

Perfect Spot by the Beach and Local Sodas

The house was perfect and was very welcoming and had all the necessities needed. The rooms are located on the second floor with a balcony which allowed you to see the sunrise and sunset as well as watch the local fishermen coming in and count with their catches for sale. The dark sand and warm water was welcoming with a lot of wildlife to see and enjoy. The people are very friendly and patient with tourists and all the food was amazing. Perfect location close enough to still enjoy Manuel Antonio and Quepos as well, we definitely will be back!

Stately, yellow house by the beach

We enjoyed our stay in the stately yellow house by the beach. We appreciated the big water container made ready for our use upon arrival. We were impressed with all the built-ins and the sturdiness of the house. The ACs were efficient and each person could set their optimum temperatures in their bedroom. The beach and the water were wonderful. We highly recommend.

Flocks of parrots, beach walk with monkeys and a coatis, — family friendly beach with fun waves to jump in that turns into a a fantastic surf extravaganza with the tide. Restaurants steps away, local grocer that carries nice veg selection and even tofu! Kitchen fully stocked - fun dipping pool to cool off or cannon ball over and over. The rustic charm of this place cannot be overstated. Make sure to get your colones on the way. The nearest exchange is at least 25 min drive. Some venders only take cash

Beautiful beach front home. Short walk to restaurants and the local grocery store. Perfect place to explore the area between Jaco and Manuel Antonio. One of the best beaches we saw in the area. Would definitely come again!

The perfect spot.

I’ve stayed at the Casa Amarilla 3 different times now. One with couples. Another with my wife and kids for two full weeks and then this past week bringing my brothers and dad down for a surf trip. It’s always been perfect for us for every kind of adventure. We will be back soon! Be sure to visit my good friend Jorge at Aloha surf just around the corner! For dinner go to Don Toro and hopefully you score a good swell.

Best Vaca Ever

We absolutely loved the location of this home on the beach. Keylor was especially helpful with all of our needs and excursions. Not far from waterfalls, monkey mangrove tour, and catamaran tour. We are wanting to go back during Xmas break. Definitely 5 stars for us!

Wonderful Time!

We loved our time at this beautiful beachfront home. The pool was perfect after walking and playing on the beach. We loved having Jorge, the lifeguard and surf instructor, there right in front of our house. Communication with Keylor was super helpful. We felt very happy, taken care of, and comfortable . Can’t wait to return someday. ¡Pura Vida!

Perfect family beach house

This is the perfect beach house - my teen daughters and my folks (in their 70’s) all agree. Steps from the beach, comfortable beds, a well appointed kitchen, and ample space for relaxation inside and out - including a pool. The location is wonderful- just south of the party hub of Jaco and north of the crowded Manuel Antonio - yet plenty to do. Excellent local restaurants, surf lessons literally 30 yards away and a well stocked grocery store a block away. I could stay here for months and be completely content.

Beautiful home in a great location

Lovely home with all the essentials for a beach vacation! Safe, clean and well taken care of. Don’t miss the pizza at the Rancho Coral or dinner at Los Almendros! Store nearby has most things you need and Jaco isn’t far for more selection. Felipe, Ariel and Danny were super helpful and easy to reach for anything we needed. We look forward to returning soon! Great place and a great host!

The house was just as expected but Dave exceeded expectations. The place was clean, things operated well and it is beautifully situated on the beach. Dave was VERY flexible with our scheduling issues, arranged for fishing with a local fishermen and even gave me a ride to Jaco so I could unexpectedly pick up my rental car. Quaint town with a couple great places to eat. If we ever go back to this area of Costa Rica, this is the place we will stay!

Just book it!!

Family and friends booked this house for 2 weeks (actually our 2nd time here) and it is PERFECT!! If you are contemplating booking this house, just do it, you won't be disappointed. Perfect location, beautiful area, Mirla the host is truly a "super host". Her response to inquiries was quick and helpful, not a single bad thing to say and we are looking forward to staying here again, we won't even look for another house it is "Casa Tres Pochotes" for life. House is perfectly located on a clean family friendly beach with fun waves out back. The house is clean and roomy with a clean and functional back yard including a pool. The pool is nice to cool down in after coming back from beach and or a surf. We were able to grill out on the new terrace on the side of the home which was perfect for a evening at the house. The three large bedrooms with each one having its own bathroom upstiars is optimal for families and or friends to stay in comfort and privacy. Overall the home is perfect for your costa rica vacation being clean, comfrotable, centrally located with nice restaraunts near by and a an amazing beach. I recommended it 10/10.

A Part of the Community

WOW, I must say that this is undeniably one special place. It is here that one can find a healthy mix of expats, Ticos and surfers, all of who are blended together to make the community in the little town of Esterillos Oeste a great home away from home. Waking to nature's symphony of green parrots and waves each morning as well as being able to walk to the local market/restaurants deems the perfect getaway. In addition, the larger cities of Jaco and Parritta are only short drive away, allowing travelers to indulge in the best of both worlds… Our hosts Dave and Kate made us feel right at home! We are hoping to visit again next year!

Return guests & still in love!

We can’t say enough about this property. This was our 2nd time staying here— last was 2yrs ago. I must say that Mirla, the property manager, has done a fantastic job with the property. Not too much has changed but the house seemed more organized. We were actually able to use the balcony this time— it was clean & less cluttered. We had an issue with one of the upstairs AC units and Mirla had someone to the house promptly to access & fix the problem. We were so thankful! Overall, you can’t find a better property in regards to location and centralization of everything you need in Esterillos Oeste. We have decided to make this a yearly destination spot to get away from the winter gloom of the Pacific Northwest. We love Esterillos Oeste, this home and the Pura Vida lifestyle!

Exactly what we wanted...

We cannot say enough about how much we loved our stay, only problem , wanted to stay longer. The house is excellently stocked , there was not one thing we didnot have! The area is awesome , private & beautiful , the locals are very friendly . Was able to buy fish right out of the boat from the neighbor fisherman.. Will definitely be back and recommend it to all age groups we even brought our little dog and she was very welcomed . Dave & Kate made everything so easy , met us at the local grocery , took us to the house & made sure everything worked and that we were comfortable . On the day we left Dave came to see us off and lock up so we didn't have to bother with all the security. The house was clean , safe and well furnished ... Thanks

Costa Rica beach front house

Took 3.50 hours from San Jose airport to arrive at home due to traffic. Best part is house being right on the beach. However, the area is not very nice and there is a public campground sight right beside house which is very loud and noisy all night long. House is on public beach access where cars pull up in front of home facing the ocean. House was not clean at all - floors were dirty and our feet would be dirty again after taking showers. Ceilings fans, Walls, light switch plates, door knobs were dirty and thankfully I had plenty of Clorox wipes to wipe door knobs and switch plates. Ants crawling all over the pool deck, flys and mosquitoes in the house all the time due to no weather stripping around the doors. Shower heads all need to replaced as they only spray on jet stream. Very dark at night in the house, limited outlets for use and WiFi internet was only accessible in downstairs area. One TV located in den. All bedrooms need accessible Wi-Fi connection. One hairdryer for house. House needs a good cleaning and some maintenance. House keys were left for us due to arrival time. No one from management company bothered to follow up w me on Sunday or anytime we were there. All communication for any needs for house was done by me. Had to ask for toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, water and if there was housekeeping service at all. Disappointed in condition of home as it can be very nice w a little bit of maintenance.

Great Overall Experience

We spent 1 week at this home. We were looking for a place to stay which was away from the high traffic tourist areas and provided fun at the beach for teenagers. The home is beautiful and spacious and the location could not be better - steps from the beach and the balconies look over the shore. We spent most of our time at the beach boogie boarding which was a blast (rented from Aloha Surf down the street). Tried a bit of surfing but most of the time the water was too rough for beginners like us. Every room had AC which was important given some humid days, and the pool was a big plus which the kids really enjoyed. The local market (walking distance) is surprisingly well stocked but we did most of our shopping in nearby Jaco. We were definitely away from the crowds as often we would walk out to the beach to find we were the only ones there for as far as we could see. The small town has a very laid back atmosphere and getting to experience the local culture was a great part of our trip. The owner was very friendly and responsive to questions I had during booking. And, the property management group was very professional and responding quickly when I had a question or needed help. I did find that if we had too many appliances running the circuit breaker would trip, so I do recommend bringing a flashlight (which is good to have in CR in general). Overall, this was an ideal getaway for our family and I would highly recommend to others!

Great house

Very clean property. As advertised. We loved the ability to walk on to the beach. Clean beach that stretches for miles! Got crowded (I didn't expect that as I thought we were away from Jaco and Manuel Antonio - clearly the locals know this beach and so was crowded with them but not detrimentally). Having stayed in a few locations during our visit, we have decided that CR is badly in need of good plumbers! Every bathroom at all the rentals had problems. Here with 4 bathrooms, we could have our pick. They had a nice collection of books we used on a rainy day. Also, they have games, beach equipment etc to make it easy for overseas visitors. The pool was clean but really a large jacuzzi size rather that a pool that you could swim in. For small children, it may be good. The washer and dryer were very helpful. AC worked. There is a Soda next door who blares music during business hours which was a bit annoying at times. We could walk to the supermarket and the restaurants. Excellent location except for the soda playing loud music. They did not play music if there were few people on the beach. Internet was very patchy and slow which was surprising as even in a remote cabin in Monteverde we had excellent service. Overall, we would stay again!
