COVID-19 has brought about substantial changes to the way we travel. If you're planning an escape to Phillip Island, these tips will help you navigate these new challenges:

• Before booking your flight, check if any travel bans or restrictions apply — in both your destination and origin. Get up-to-date information by reviewing government and airport websites.
• Keep your face mask on even during airport screening. A TSA employee will ask you to temporarily lower your mask for ID purposes.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass (electronic or paper) directly to a TSA employee. Instead, position the pass on the scanner and then hold it up for the agent to visually inspect it.
• TSA now allows passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on bags. This will have to be removed from your bag to be screened.
• Put any personal items (e.g, wallet, keys and phone) in your carry-on instead of a bin to minimize handling during the screening process.
• Transport any food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Keeping your food separate from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA agent will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
