not a four star hotel
when I first came I thought it was wrong adress.
the area (hotell and "flat"-buildings) dident look too much welcoming.
aircon worked very bad in my room during the night, but I got a room With scenery of Mekong
It is close to downtown, the pool is amazing, the breakfast is exceptional and the staff has always been
so accommodating to me .
It is easy for my driver and tuk tuk drivers to get in and out easily.
Security is exceptional.
Probably the only drawback is that there is no elevator service. But, to accommodate for this, there are many service
people who carry your luggage wherever you want it to go and up many floors.
Overall, excellent for me.

Noise pollution from Dreamland creates a Nightmare
The hotel has always been a good place to rest - lovely pool and laid back ambiance.
The new Dreamland amusement park next door has polluted the hotel with constant loud music - a sad development that makes it unpleasant to be outside your room at the hotel. The noise even penetrated into my room at night - UGH!

Nice but could be better
The hotmail is fine, but a bit overpriced compared to similar ones in the same area. It is a bit further south from the restaurants area, so you need to walk 10-15 min to be in the trendy area. Also, there is no view of the river, as rooms are mostly on ground floor. Entrance is dark and not very visible. The swimming pool is very nice.

Used to be great
We have stayed at the Imperial Garden a half dozen times over the past few years. Previously, I have given this property high marks, but we were very disappointed on our recent visit. The condition of the property is about the same but the service and amenities have seriously declined. The breakfast buffet is just bad. Most hot food items are warm at best, and items that should be on ice are not. The coffee is appalling, and service is slow. But the most disappointing aspect was the front of house staff. There were a few familiar faces, and these young ladies were as helpful as always. But the newer staff was very disappointing. Several times we asked for directions and other guidance, and were met with indifference and a general unhelpful attitude. For a property at this price point in Phnom Penh, we expect more. Sorry to have to change my previous endorsement to not recommended.
This is a tired, run down hotel. Nothing has been refreshed in at least a decade. I walked around it before booking. It's on the riverfront and looks ok from the outside. I wish I'd gone in to look around before booking. The ONLY positives were a good breakfast and leaving. When leaving the staff didn't even open the door for me.
