Beautiful Log Cabin with Private Pond & Dock Only 2 Weekend’s Left in Oct & Nov

Discover your mountain log cabin getaway with room for everyone! This home is spread out over 3 floors with 5 bedrooms sleeping a total of 14. It is located on a private cul-de-sac in a gated community situated on the New River. Enjoy your own private pond with dock and gazebo, porches on 2 levels overlooking the water. Inside enjoy an open floor plan with a 2 story family room, open concept dining/kitchen with seating for 16. Wrap around porches provide a relaxing atmosphere to rest and recharge. The lower level provides a bunk room, second bedroom with King bed, bathroom and large family/game room with bunkbeds that opens onto lower level porches overlooking the pond. Master is on the main level with new mountain log King bed, private bath and covered porch access overlooking the pond. Upstairs discover 2 oversized King bedrooms with a twin bed and bathroom. Bring your fishing pole to fish in the pond, neighborhood hiking trails, 5 minutes from tube/kayak rentals. Easy driving distance to West Jefferson, Mt. Jefferson, New River state park, Grayson Highlands, and the Creeper trail. Welcome to Running Doe Lodge where you can experience: rest and relaxation, hiking, biking, tubing, kayaking, pond fishing, fly fishing, small town charm, shopping, wineries/breweries, and a great place to make memories.

Christmas Cabin 2024

Magical holiday weekend. Beautiful and comfortable home decorated for Christmas. Lovely walking trail, deer, gorgeous views. Short trip to West Jefferson which was like a Hallmark movie. Easy check in. Home is as described, everone said their beds were comfy.

Group getaway

This is a perfect property for a large group. There are lots of beds and the kitchen has an amazing quantity of dishes and flatwear as well as pots and pans, the house is beautiful with lovely views. The owner is very responsive. There are lots of places to go nearby.

Everyone loves this lodge.

My entire family was pleased with this lodge. It was spacious, beautifully appointed, well furnished and had a place and more for all of us to sleep. The basement was great for privacy for the kids to get away and for their parents to be close by for sleeping. We loved the decor too.

Wonderful cabin

We really enjoyed our stay here. This cabin is very spacious and had even more beds than I thought! There were tons of towels and everything you needed in the kitchen. The porches wrap all the way around and it's just a lovely cabin. The owners are quick with communication. Great experience.

Great experience at Running Doe

The property was located in a wonderful neighborhood and was in perfect shape for a larger group to stay. We had 10 guests and had lots of space and the house had great immensities and the property keener provided lots of things to do. Very close to nice restaurant and not far from Grayson Highlands which is what brought our group in to visit. 5 stars across the board.

Second Annual Friends Weekend

Our group of 4 families stayed here for a long weekend for the second year in a row and this year was even better than the last. We had kids ranging from 1-7 and everyone had a blast. We love the outdoor space and the kitchen was suited perfectly to cook every meal in the house! See you next year, Piney Creek!

Great Property and Hosts!

Our group really enjoyed our stay. All of The little things that the hosts thought of, from nightlights, kitchen utensils/accessories, the extra twin in each king bed on the second floor, were over and above. The game room was a huge hit and the pond was an excellent amenity for our fishermen in the group. Definitely will be back!
