Really lovely place in the woods. Incredible wildlife seen too and just a little walk to the river. The beds are super comfortable and the cabin is well stocked with excellent appliances and the WiFi is exceptional. Never lost signal once. Awesome fire pit and relaxed environment. Truly a nice place to stay. Outstanding support from host and Vrbo too.
This is a house in a neighborhood that we have stayed in before. Drop the kayaks in at the state park and land at the bottom of the neighborhood. The house is right next to the "Indian Cave" and up the hill from a little water fall. The house is up a steep hill secluded from the rest of the development and very quiet. The house is 20 years old and it is showing signs of age, railing to the fire pit was rotten. Washer did not work and dryer took an hour and a half to dry a small load of clothes. There were issues with the water heater so we had to take 3 minute showers, and the water had a strong sulfur smell. There was no internet service for the weekend and was never fixed. All in all we made the best of the situation.
Peaceful and quiet with lots of conversation and no distractions. Kayaking on the river, shopping ain Sparta, and making s'mores by the fire pit. We hope to go back!
We truly enjoyed our one-week stay at this lovely cabin in Piney Creek, North Carolina. The cabin was extremely clean, very comfortable, and well equipped with everything needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The property is beautiful and very well maintained, surrounded by nature and located in a peaceful, quiet community. It was the perfect place to unwind, feel safe, and enjoy some quality time away from the hustle and bustle.Inside the cabin, all the essential amenities were provided, making our stay easy and comfortable. The space felt welcoming and thoughtfully prepared, which we really appreciated.Overall, this cabin exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and relaxing getaway. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed for 4 days. The cabin was lovely. The amenities are great - stocked kitchen and plenty of blankets, throws etc. Location is amazing and there is an Indian Cave next to the property. Short hiking trail to the river as well.Would only suggest to get better beds in the kids room and to provide more dishwasher soap packets. The load done before we arrived didn't use soap (probably because previous guests didn't have any packets). There were a lot of dirty dishes and glasses in the cabinet.
We enjoyed our visit, the house was a wonderful space with excellent amenities. Short walk to the river or can drive to a different access in the community. Visited West Jefferson and went tubing. Hot tub and fire pit were a hit with our family. Would recommend adding a map of some sort to show how to get to river access both in the community and via walking trail behind gazebo. We enjoyed and hope to visit again!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication
Disliked: Location, listing accuracy
Roads were bad
Pictures show the river but there is not river in front of the house you need to take a trail to find the river
We had a very lovely stay! The cabin was spacious and we had great walks along trails close by. I will call out that the description is misleading as there's no access to the river. Also the outside furniture had not been wiped down prior to our stay so was covered in pollen. Overall, a wonderful stay!
We absolutely loved the cabin and plan on coming back for another stay. The location was private and quiet. The house was beautiful inside and out and very spacious, it's the perfect place to get away for a few days. Definitely plan to bring food prior because the grocery store is about 30 min away. Also, don't recommend driving late at night due to the windy roads and deer. The hot tub worked great and the fire pit outside was huge and so cozy. Everything was as promised!
Recommendations for property management:
-better lighting near hot tub and outdoor fire pit
The house had everything we needed. It easily accommodated 9 adults. The only suggestion I have would be to replace the shower heads, that water pressure was brutal.
Nice cabin! Kitchen stocked with what we needed. Nice beds. Nice living room. Only two negatives…roll and 1/2 roll of toilet paper. (And your miles from a place to buy more). Photos on VRBO a bit misleading. Not on the river. Otherwise…nice cabin!
Such a great location. Wooded area and secluded from other houses. Very private. Lots of room in house with wrap around porches on both levels so even if it rained we had lots of room to enjoy outside. WiFi was awesome. Everything was great. Close to River with beautiful nature walks.
The house was perfect for a family vacation for 5 adults and a teenager. The pictures show the wonderful property. The hot tub is on the lower deck (where the porch swing is shown in pictures). The kitchen is well equipped to fix any meal. The beds were very comfortable in each room. The deck has two hammocks and plenty of seating to enjoy the peaceful setting. There are a couple of ways to access the river. Red Dog is a great restaurant close by with delicious food and excellent service, when you don't want to cook! Blue Ridge Parkway provided outstanding views on our trip to Blowing Rock. West Jefferson was also an enjoyable trip with a quaint town and a wonderful place to purchase produce. Riverside Canoeing provided a fun activity for the family on the New River. The property manager was quick to reply with questions and check out was a breeze. It is a beautiful home. We wished we could have stayed longer!
Beautiful house in a great location. We didn't have a gate key in our check in instructions ans would have been great to have turn by turn directions included as well. But overall, it was a beautiful house that fit our needs well!
