Cottage near Pittsburgh - Pet Friendly, No Pet/Cleaning Fees, Secluded & Quiet

  • Get a real feel of the rolling hills of Pittsburgh while staying in a comfortable cottage built on a hill in a peaceful wooded setting. Plenty of room to relax and unwind while enjoying nature. Deer, turkey, birds and squirrels abound! I feed them all, so you will most certainly see them all during your visit.
    The cottage is less than 10 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh (park and ride and bus is within walking distance) and the Pittsburgh Int'l airport is only 15 minutes away. It has 1 private bedroom with private half bath, loft with daybed and trundle. One covered deck overlooks the local town of Carnegie and the 2nd covered porch is along the private road. The fireplace in the living room is sure to set the mood for a relaxing evening. Weather permitting, you can enjoy the outdoor firepit! The local park (which is also a dog park) is within walking distance. It's the perfect place to stay and feel like you are at home while you are visiting our beautiful City of Pittsburgh!

    **** In lieu of chargning a pet fee, I have a pet donation program in place at the cottage.

My family loved the cottage! It was so well stocked. We cooked while there and had everything we needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable and there were plenty of spare blankets for the cold nights. Our host's communication was great - sent all the details and directions and stayed in contact when needed. The driveway is steep like host says - do yourself a favor and pull into the lower lot. So much easier than pulling out after back in! Thank you for our stay!

The cottage was stocked fully and with many extras. Very clean on the inside and served for a nice weekend. The yard is tricky because of it being on a slope so when walking the dog can be stressful if a deer or squirrel appear.

The cottage is very whimsical and cozy. The view was amazing night and day. We enjoyed the fireplace and the French pastry shoppe La Gourmandine. We would rent this place again.

This property was exactly as listed and such a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle side of town. We stayed so we could move a family member into her dorm room which is a 5 hour drive from home, and we were able to bring the dog which was very nice. The yard was big enough with a tie down for my big hound dog to enjoy sniffing around. The place was clean and there was plenty of space for everyone. I will be staying here any time I come to visit my cousin at the University of Pittsburgh which was about a 15-20 drive from here.

Nice little rustic house/cabin. Owner was excellent communicating with me. We loved sitting on the porch with cocktails after long days of hiking, and especially enjoyed all the birds and the one neighborhood kitty who came to visit. Bed was very comfortable and everything was very clean. The driveway was the only bad thing. It's tough to get out of. Recommend bringing your AWD pickup or SUV rather than just a front wheel drive sedan, or park in the street at top of hill.

Hidden Gem Hideaway

This is a sweet cozy cottage hidden among the trees with beautiful flowering bushes. We came days after a severe storm blew through Pittsburgh and unfortunately power outages everywhere. The host Laura was extremely helpful throughout our stay. We enjoyed watching the birds on the back deck and grilling dinner together.

Very cute house on a dead end street, tucked away on the ridge in the woods, just a few minutes from downtown Carnegie. The house is very quirky but a lovely stay that feels private and easy to access all the things you’ll want from your stay in Pittsburgh!

Great place!

Finding it was challenging, but once we did, it was perfect for us! Great “home base” it’s about 15-20 minutes from most places you want to go. Then retreat back to your cabin. Super communication with host. It’s a clean, thoughtfully well stocked place - great fire pit. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Cutest Cottage in Carnegie!

Love the Carnegie area because it’s so easy to get to the city, and this cottage in its woodsy setting makes it feel like you’re secluded but you’re so close to everything, including Carnegie’s downtown. Love that they allow you to have pets stay too. Deck on back is super cute and cozy.

Charming Cottage

Spent several days while visiting family in the area over Thanksgiving holiday. Very comfortable, well-equipped and nicely furnished cottage in a quiet neighborhood on a hill overlooking Carnegie, PA. Nice outdoor space but a little chilly to enjoy it. Very pet friendly!

Great Hideaway Near Pittsburgh

We came to the area for a high school water polo tournament, and this cottage worked great for us. Loved sitting on the covered deck with coffee in the morning and enjoying the view while our dogs roamed the yard. If you are looking for a modern, high-end place, this isn't for you. But if you are looking for a clean and comfortable place with thoughtful amenities and a surprisingly beautiful wooded setting, it's perfect.

Oasis in the woods

This is a quiet place to stay and you can bring your furbabies with you too! My dogs absolutely loved watching bird/squirrel TV (the birds/squirrels would eat food by the deck and once my pups noticed it, they watched them all the time!). This place was in a convenient location and easy access to Pittsburgh. I would definitely stay again.
