The rooms were lovely with amazing beach access and views, beach bar and pool. Lovely beds and pillows, showers etc. Very tasteful and clean. The real stand out is the staff. Teresa at the front desk made our stay absolutely magical. She went above and beyond, even helping arrange a surprise proposal, many activities and romantic outings. Every staff member was just so accommodating, attentive and compassionate. Truly an amazing stay right in the heart of placencia village steps from many fun, colorful and delicious food and drink.

This was a spectacular stay. We chose the room facing the Caribbean Sea vs. having a kitchen set-up and it was the best decision ever. We loved every aspect of the Ellysian - most especially, being able to step out onto the sidewalk (Main Street) and in one minute, came upon Beaches and Cream cafe, the best coffee shop one might find anywhere in the world. The restaurant up four flights was also a hidden treasure. Although one has to be lucky enough to be able to make the climb, there is a fabulous chef who makes it all worthwhile. Bravo to a wonderful resort. My only tiny suggestion is to add a little hook and bolt to the door so that when one is inside and doesn't hear someone from the staff knocking, they don't accidentally walk inside. But overall, we loved it. Thank you.

Best hotel experience we have ever had. Rooms were clean, decorated nicely, the beach area is very convenient and well kept. Vanessa at the pool bar makes some amazing cocktails. The rooftop restaurant has great views and tasty food. Teresa at the front desk spoiled us by ensuring everything went smoothly, booked restaurant reservations and excursions for us, and was absolutely lovely to chat with. I can’t recommend the Ellysian enough, we would go back in a heart beat.

Staff was great, really great. Probably the best restaurant on the island. My wife also liked the spa. Housekeeping was a bit uneven but got sorted out. The big problems are: (1) the furniture in the room was uncomfortable-you sit down on the furniture and there is so little padding you realize you’re sitting on the wood frame of every piece; and (2) for God’s sake put a decent coffee maker in the kitchen - not a WW2 relic.

The room was a disappointment given the price point. The sliding glass door on one-side was shattered, one of the bathroom windows was also broken, the left sliding glass door wouldn’t lock and or close ( eventually fixed) the sofa and comforter cover were both stained. I felt that my complaints were met with frustration by the front desk staff. I actually considered leaving for $473 a night I was frustrated all solutions were a take away, we-booked an ocean view with a king bed, we were offered 2 doubles garden view. The positive was the food and bar manager that listened and at least offered us a free dinner! Most of the team were exceptional

We had a wonderful stay at the Elysian Hotel in Placencia and can’t say enough about how warm and welcoming the staff were. Traveling with young kids can be challenging, but the team here went out of their way to make everything easy and comfortable for our family. From thoughtful help day-to-day to genuine kindness toward our children, it truly made a difference in our trip. Our room was spacious and easily accommodated our family of five, which is not always easy to find. Housekeeping was excellent—our room was always spotless—and the service at the bar was consistently friendly and attentive. Overall, the Elysian felt relaxed, well cared for, and very family-friendly. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and would highly recommend it, especially for families traveling with kids.
