The cottage was very well equipped and spotless, also very comfortable, and the owners left a few essentials and treats for us and our dog. "The property was 1st class. Spotlessly clean and excellently equipped. There were even the essentials available in the fridge when we arrived. The quality of (what’s looks like a very recent) renovation was very very good. The shower was amazing and the property was toasty warm. As for Pennan, it was a delightfully remote spot where it was wonderful to be woken up in the morning by the sound of the waves. Highly recommend. "

"We have stayed there before and wanted to return. It was so worth it. Nice room and wonderful restaurant with fabulous food and drink. I even had pancakes and the grill was broken! I had them two years ago and they were the best in Scotland so the owner made sure they could make them again!! They even recognized us (two traveling couples) from two years ago! "I would highly recommend the Craig Alvah lodge to anyone looking to visit the area, the rooms were spotless with plenty of space. Both the living room and kitchen/dining area has plenty of seating available (pretty comfy too). The pool was a big part of what finalised our decision to stay here and it did not disappoint, very clean and well kept. Garden area was well looked after too ! Owners and cleaners were very friendly and quick to respond when we had questions. WiFi was strong as there were 15+ devices connected at once and we had no problems with it. We can’t wait to come :)"

"The lodge was very nice, clean and tastefully presented. We did not meet the owners so cannot score them. Only negative was working out where our parking space was, creaky upstairs floorboards making the double bedroom noisy, not very warm water for showering and lack of laundry facilities - the reason I booked self catering for a mid week stay was to enable me to wash clothes but I was unable to find a machine and no mention of laundry in the owners guide. Complimentary food basket was excellent."
