I loved that there was a lake next to the hotel. Looking out my door at the lake. Staff was very nice. Loved that I was about 30 minutes from the canada border. All in all great stay.

THE ROOMS ARE A LITTLE BIT DATED BUT THE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE.THE WHOLE PROPERTY COULD PERHAPS DO WITH A BIT OF TLC BUT THE LOCATION IS GREAT WITH WONDERFUL VIEWS AND A NICE BEACH YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

The room was clean and comfortable, but it was a bit over priced. For the price they should offer some kind of breakfast. The staff was excellent and very friendly. They changed our room from the second floor to the first floor upon request and we mistakenly left our computer at the motel, someone found it and returned it to the office and they kept it safe until we could return and pick it up.

The furnishings were similar to what one might have at home, as opposed to a "commercial" or "institutional" appearance. The man managing the property was extremely friendly and helpful.

Lakefront views and a private beach

She has some years on her, but the sheets were clean and fresh, the kitchenette is a nice perk, and you can't beat the location. Good staff. Quiet rooms. Very much enjoyed our stay. Would return.

Room 79, right on end next to shoreline of lake ,they call it the beach, good breeze, wish stairway was at end instead of middle of units! Otherwise, a good stay

As an alternative to staying in Burlington, Golden Gate costs less, has beach front with a great lake view and is not far from the ferry dock. While the building may be showing its age, it does have a retro vibe and appears to be well maintained. I think having the kitchenette space is not a bad trade-off for a compact bathroom. Good value for travelers - especially in summer!

Everything was fine. Bathroom fixtures were a bit dated, but everything worked, and was clean. Bed was comfortable. The lakefront location was nice, sat out in front of the room for a while enjoying the evening breeze and listening to the waves.
