The Kjar House. A one bedroom family retreat in the Oregon outback.

For those who are curious…Kjar is pronounced “care”.

After driving thru Plush in the early morning hours several years ago, I fell in love with the area.
The home is an older manufactured home that has had many upgrades in the past few years.
It is our family's home away from home and unlike some rentals, we do have family pictures, a few European trophy mounts and my sons first Buck throughout the house.
This is home to us and we want to share it with you. We strive to make The Kjar house feel like your home away from home as well.
It has one bedroom with a comfy queen size bed. A large living room with a Futon and a den that has an additional Futon, if needed.
The house is fully equiped. The large deck , which overlooks the lawn, is great for kicking back after your trip and even better for Star gazing. Plush is knows as one of the Darkest places on the west coast and there is very little light pollution here.

We have never used VRBO. We were very satisfied with the accommodations. great location in the heart of Plush. check-in, all communications with the owner were spot on. The house keeping was excellent. Everything that is needed to make your self at home was there. If the need and time arise we will stay there again. No complaints or short coming.

Clean and comfortable home away from home

The Kjar House was just what we were looking for during our trip to Hart Mountain. All of the comforts of home, and the house and property were spotless. We look forward to booking another stay at the property for our next trip to the area!

Great accommodations

The Kjar house in Plush was perfect for us. Two adults and a large dog, doing some sightseeing and visiting the sunstone mine. House was easy to find, very comfortable and clean, well appointed and equipped. Lots of lovely additional touches too, vast selection of cups for the Keurig, bags of snacks and bars, and dog treats. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Kharkiv house and will definitely stay there again on our next trip!,

Great house!

We have been here before and we love it. We did some more exploring of the area and also visited sites we have been before. Super nice to come home to a great house and shower after a dusty day out in the desert. We will be back.

Excellent stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kjar home! Very comfortable, plenty of space for my family. It was such a fantastic place to come back to relax, shower, do laundry and cook a meal after scouting and hunting! Them was such an awesome person to communicate with and he was incredibly accommodating. We will absolutely be recommending this home to anyone who is in the Plush area.

Peaceful oasis

We loved the location, the quiet and the comfortable hang out areas inside and outside. We explored Hart Mountain and loved seeing all the birds and dragonflies. I would love to return. Thank you!

Fantastic! Exceptionally clean. Well stocked, as if you were staying at a friend's home. Easy to find. Prompt and friendly communication with host. Went up to Hart Mountain, which has fantastic views. Saw antelope at the edge of town!

House has Everything

We went to find Oregon Sunstones. The house was very comfortable and had everything from bubbles to green beans. Thank you for sharing your home with us just the way we would have someone stay in our home. Definitely would recommend staying here to anyone!

Very nicely equiped and furnished

I have paid more and have gotten way less. Nicely furnished kithchen with additional spices, coffee and tea and etc. Property owners gave some real thought and consideration in putting this place together for enjoyable stay. Keep in mind that this place is more than 50 miles from any real convenience stores or restaurants. The town of Plush Oregon has one store that offers diesel, gas and a small diner, they were also very inviting simple straight forward services. This double wide mobile home as been nicely updated, nice wood deck with seating area to enjoy the sun and the fruit trees on the property. Two thumbs up from our visit.

Warm and inviting stay

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this comfortable and well-equipped home while visiting the Oregon Sunstone mines. The furnishings had a pleasantly rustic feel, the kitchen had everything we could have needed, and the grounds were very pleasant to spend quiet time enjoying. As we only stayed 2 nights, we didn't get a chance to use all this property had to offer, but we would have been happy to stay a week if we could have. We only had two minor complaints the whole stay: 1. While the bed in the guest bedroom was pretty comfortable, it was also surprisingly loud with squeaking springs on every movement, and 2. We were not made aware that there would be no cellular reception at the property and, upon arrival, we were unable to access the VRBO app to retrieve the key access code, or the house's Wi-Fi login to use that data instead to access it - we had to drive a couple miles back down the road until we had signal again to screenshot the info. Other than those very minor issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this home to anyone visiting the area!

The home was great, only suggestion I have would be to add curtains in the bedroom and on the front door. Morning sun comes in pretty early and if you are sleeping in either room your up.
