Canmore is a thriving little mountain town with scenic views all around including the famous 3 sisters towering mountain peaks. All together, a viable alternative to Banff. Dont forget to purchase individual park passes at the Banff Nationsl Park gates. There may be random checkpoints at ski hills or elsewhere."

"We loved the area. We walked to everything we did and every restaurant we ate at in Canmore. Canmore was less busy than Banff but still has so many great things to do. We loved sitting out on the balcony and enjoyed the hot tub. "
