We love the Holiday Inn for it's family apartments, wonderful breakfasts, and of course, the pool! The one toilet didn't work when we first arrived, but maintenance came and got it functioning, though it continued to run. The housekeeping staff are always friendly.

The service was great. Any request from the room was quickly attended to. problems with my laptop connection to the wifi was easily handled. Overall, the customer care was exceptional.
Downside - bathroom tap was leaky and often dripped through the night. Bathroom design was a little weird and had to almost side sideways on the toilet.

Hi Philip,Thank you for choosing to stay Holiday Inn Port Moresby. Thank you for taking the time to do the review. Could you please advise us on the bad experience you had since you have rated us 1 out of 5.
The grounds were large, lush, and well-maintained. The room was very comfortable. Instead of just a small "fitness center," they had a full gym which was used by locals as well as hotel guests.
The outside area was no more unsafe than anywhere else. Everywhere in PNG, I was told not to leave the grounds without a local for protection.

Had to send my son to Port Moresby for a job interview so needed somewhere close and also safe. They upgraded him so he was happy. He had an apartment so he could do his own cooking if he wished. Internet working okay which is more than I can say for other hotel in Port Moresby like Gateway.
Everyone was very professional and organized for coronavirus quarantine procedures.

Central location. Staff are okay. Lack of communication within staff. I extended to stay another night and came back to the room seeing my stuff removed by housekeeping staff. Courtesy pick up from airport was horrible. 2 hours wait. Phones calls never get answered. The hotel itself is beautiful. It's the people who manages it makes a big difference

Stayed at the Suites and they are the best in Port Moresby.
Well planned interior with kitchen and laundry. Clean, non smoking.
Comfy bed and spacious en suite.
Perfect verandah.
Only thing missing was a microwave oven.
Otherwise, it will be my family's first choice when in Port Moresby.

Upon arrival we were told at reception that our rooms had already been booked and they were no longer available. Then we complained and all of a sudden, our rooms were available.
Other than that the hotel was ok.
Simply the best value for money in Port Moresby. The staff is amazing and the park and facility makes it feel like a little village in POM.
The Internet connection is surprisingly good too. The restaurant and the bars are very convivial.
I stay here often but this time much was lacking. Staff are friendly and the location is great for my work. problem this time was a party in the next room , lots of teens . impossible to get some rest. giggling girls and doors constantly banging. at 3am in the morning I had more than enough so call reception. they said they knew and would send security. it finally settled at 4am, just 3 hours before work. Feeling totally wasted. tried to be tolerant but 4am, that's not on when paying this coin. Next was laundry was lost for two days and it seemed noone knew where it was. Phew I've just got back to hotel and it's here. Normally I like it here. on a good note after waiting 50 minute for my simple Fish and chips dinner in the restaurant the waiter sincerely apologised and gave me a complimentary soup which was delicious. I nice touch . But I will stay again as it's not normally this bad. Still value for money

Staff were not so friendly. Garden wing rooms were in renovated area, carpets were dirty and smelly.
Food was over priced and served in small portions. Not great value for money. Disappointing stay.

From the time of arrival to the moment of departure all the staff were warm, welcoming and polite. From the rooms to the gardens everything was lovely and clean. Unfortunately due to medical reasons my trip severely interrupted and was cut short. Due to the fact that the staff were so accommodating the dilemma of my situation eased emotionally. Nice hotel close to the Vision City Mall.
I have been staying at this hotel for years. While the rooms have been renovated there are still some things that need changing eg. the screen door and the sliding doors were very hard to open and were very old, especially the screen door. There were a lot of cockroaches in the room.

Always love to stay there. Staff are all friendly. Just a bit of mark up w the coffee shop when we got turned back from breakfast. I guess communication problem between them and front office. Overall is excellent n will come back in future.

Got a massive internet bill as I didn't know realize the catch - NO FREE WIFI. You'd think WIFI is free everywhere in the world. One of the biggest chain of hotels in the Australasia region still ripping clients off with this little catch - BE AWARE.

facilities are old and the room was dirty: on the floor, in the bathroom, curtains were very old and worn out.

Really gone down hill compared to my previous stay
Staff are great, But room had not been cleaned. I found a slither of dried bacon and a thong (flip-flop) alongside the bed under the chair. Also an empty butter portion packet moulding under the desk. That kind of thing made me think twice about the bed sheets and towels cleanliness. I'd booked rooms for colleagues as well and they were not to impressed with there rooms. I've had no complaints in the past which is why I booked this time.
My group members used this hotel for an overnight required by airline schedules. We were very impressed by their effort to get us a room as soon as possible. Though we were early arrivals, they were very apologetic that a room was not ready. They gave us a complimentary lunch while we waited.
Hotel staff provided excellent customer service and went out of their way to be helpful. The facilities were clean and comfortable. The restaurant provided a good variety of meals. The outdoor bar/haus win was a great area to sit and enjoy a quite drink in the afternoon. The kids enjoyed the pool. The hotel provided a free shuttle bus to and from the airport. Would recommend for families transiting through Port Moresby as it is affordable, safe, friendly staff and provided for a pleasant experience.

YOU DID NOT PROVIDE ME OR MORE IMPORTANTLY WITH A PRINTOUT OF THE DETAILS OF MY BOOKING THIS CAUSED ME MUCH INCONVEINENCE AND POSSIBLE EXTRA CHARGES.I WRITE TO YOU BECAUSE YOU HAVE PROVIDE ME WITH GOOD SERVICE IN TH PAST. Check-in not smooth
I arrived late in the day at 17:30 and reception were saying my room was probably not ready. Pretty disappointing. What if I'd arrived earlier? how long would I have been waiting. Rooms were tired and lack of plug sockets (no where near desk) and lead on Iron was so short it could barely reach the ironing table (which was as near as I could get it to the nearest socket). Just annoying little things really like you could not get the big kettle under the only tap in the room. It reminded me of student digs or a motel. No lifts to take you to the upper levels either which is not fun when you are in the boon docks with heavy bags. AC leaked water on to the floor
Rooms are dated and could use some modernising. Staff very friendly and helpful, food on offer was good. Facilities at the hotel are spot on, including the pool and gym. Hotel is expensive, but that's more a reflection on POM than anything else.
Restaurant in site, secure place. In Port Moresby there is a lack of hotels with good conditions, and with security at the same time. The hotel is overpriced but everything is expensive in PNG. Good place to stay for business.
Port Moresby hotels are unreasonably overpriced. This hotel is no exception, but it's perhaps as good as you'll get. It is a pretty good hotel, and was well run.
