Waterfest Weekend

We came down by boat for Beaufort Waterfest. The space was a short Uber ride from the Port Royal marina where we kept the boat. Everything was great!

Disappointing

We booked this trip for a little weekend getaway with friends. We made our trek down to the area. The location of this house was the seller for us. It is nicely located near everything! We realized on our four hour ride down, that we had not received any information to get into the house. We messaged the owner when we were about an hour out. We waited until 4 o clock to send another message as we figured they would send the code at check in time. After not hearing from anyone for a few hours we reached out to Vrbo. Of the two numbers listed, one was disconnected and the other was the telephone number to a hotel 8. We immediately felt we had been scammed. We arrived to the address which took us to a different house. Feeling even more wary, we drive around and finally found the house in the pictures. After doing our due diligence and reading all the positive reviews we just could not believe what was happening. In the interim of us going back and forth with Vrbo to figure out our accommodations, we knocked on doors in the neighborhood. All neighbors were extremely friendly, however, no one knew the owner directly. It was now a little after 6 and we finally receive a message from the owner that she is on a mission trip and forgot to get us the information in time but gives us the code. We FINALLY made it into the house. We figured the host would let us have a late checkout but only offered an hour. Overall the house is as described. You are asked to keep the sheets on the bed at checkout but I was a bit concerned when I saw two small brown hairs on the pillowcase when going to bed the first night. The downstairs bathroom wall needs some tlc as it was cracking and had pieces of the wall/paint missing. Again: location is great, neighbors are great The house fell short with the lack of communication, questionable cleanliness of sheets and bathroom walls. There were also cameras everywhere on the outside of the house for those concerned about privacy. On a side note: Vrbo handled it well and immediately accommodated us with a hotel so that we wouldn’t be without a place to stay for the night while we were waiting to hear from owner.

Great stay

We enjoyed our stay. The property owner was quick in response overall when I had questions and very friendly. We would stay again. The house is adorable and was accommodating to our needs. The bedroom downstairs was a bonus for my mother who has trouble with stairs. The parking lot at the location needs repaired but that is not the home owners fault.
