"Lovely clean and private accommodation for my husband to recover from knee replacement surgery. Our stay was made all the better by our wonderful hosts, who looked after us very well, checked on how my husband was recovering and insured we had everything we needed for our two weeks stay. Wonderful location with the local New World a 2-minute drive and the town centre a 5-minute drive. We highly recommend a stay here; you will not be disappointed. We would happily stay again."

"Our room was very dirty. There was a brown puddle of pee and scum built up on floor and wall around the back of the toilet. The shower was filthy and there was a sticky spill on the kitchen floor. We immediately went to pak n save and bought cleaning products and completely cleaned the bathroom and kitchen. We will never stay here again."

"the exterior of the property is unkept. Veranda area needs a good clean and tidy-up of vegetation. it would make it so much more enjoyable to enjoy the afternoon sunshine. Interior was clean and tidy enough. Adequate internal area for 2 adults and a preschooler, when going to the beach is main purpose. Bed was good. Warm and good facilities."

"Oh my gosh where do I start. This place was so disgusting that we couldn't even contemplate staying in that filth. The place was an absolute dump. As soon as we parked our vehicle the vibe of that place was already telling me to leave. The area was filthy with rubbish outside the room and surrounding areas. The pics on their website did not reflect the lodge at all. The parking was like a matchbox. After ringing to try to cancel we were offered another room. Giving them the benefit of the doubt that this would be better it turned out to be worse than the firs tone. The bathroom was disgusting; the toilet hadn't been cleaned and had to be wiped down with our disinfectant wipes before use, and the seat was broken. The bathroom latch was missing and so was unsafe for our stay anyway. The floor hadn't been vacuumed. We moved the bed to find rubbish under the bed and mess was covered up by the positioning of the bed. The duvet on the bed smelled like it hadn't been washed for ages. The curtains had white splashes on them. The kitchen and appliances had not been cleaned, and the room smelled disgusting. Because we hadn't organised other accommodation and it was getting dark, we tried to make do and we wiped down those areas but the place just made me sick to my stomach, gave me such a headache that I could even stay another minute in there, so we left. We didn't stay. We were out of pocket and had to end up looking for other weekend accommodation. Rating - a big fat MINUS 10"

"Amazing property. We stayed in the two bedroom, 2 bathroom unit with full kitchen and family room and were very comfortable. The accommodations were modern and clean. We really appreciated the washer and dryer in the unit. The view of Karioitahi beach was incredible. We really enjoyed our two night stay and would definitely return if back in Auckland area."

"This is the second time we stayed here. The first time was great. We booked the second time here because it stated it had a spa bath. So we booked a room with a spa bath. When we got there, the spa bath is not working. The manager just said, none of the spa baths are working. Why advertise you have spa baths if they are not working? If I knew that, I would have booked somewhere else. For me this is false advertising. Then there is the beds. Horrible. Is like sleeping in a canoe. Don't get me wrong, it is a nice place with nice people, but we will not be going there again."
