This was perfect for us! There was a pack and play for our son to sleep in, beds were comfortable, well stocked kitchen. Beautiful views. Sebastian was a great host and provided us with restaurant recommendations. We’d stay here again!
We needed a place to stay during our visit to Lewis and Clark College. The driveway is steep, but well worth it. Garage to park in, charming property with a great view and well appointed everything. We loved the time here and will come back on our next visit.
The rooms were spacious and the bed upstairs was the best sleep I’ve gotten in a long time. It was clean, had everything we needed when we wanted to cook meals and they did not skimp on the coffee available. The view was amazing! The driveway was intimidating the first time up but was no big deal. I would love to stay here again next time we visit family.
This cottage was perfect for our week end visiting our
Lewis and Clark college student.
Long range views, glittering at nights over the river.
close to everything.
Lots of welcoming touches.
The property, aka The Blue Cottage, was very clean.
Sebastian, the property manager, is very attentive to our needs.
The setting with all the trees around the property creates a calming nurturing environment.
I appreciated the gift bottle of wine waiting for us to enjoy.
I would stay here again.
Lovely views and decor! Charming blue house that features two full bedroom/bathroom sets and a pretty private garden. The traffic noises are pretty easy to tune out. Hilly neighborhood makes this house less walker-friendly, but these are nitpicks for an otherwise incredible find!
I look forward to staying at the Blue Cottage again. Our host, Sebastian, has maintained the traditional VRBO experience with tasty snacks, a couple of things in the fridge and just the right amount of notes and labels around the house to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The Blue Cottage is lovely and has a mesmerizing view. Thank you, Seb for a wonderful long weekend. nancy
Four of us enjoyed the Blue Cottage in May 2024. The house was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay including a well-functioning gas grill. The views of Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens (we think) were spectacular. It should be noted that the driveway is quite steep and can be a little slippery in wet weather, but there are steps in the middle of it to facilitate safe walking. Parking is available on the street as well as in a garage.
We had a great time here. The property was clean and wonderfully stocked with items for our stay. We loved the plants throughout the house as well. Lots of natural light and amazing views. The property is up a steep driveway and there are stairs to the home, that’s one thing that wasn’t listed that we would have loved to know before booking. The host was quick to get back to us and we had a great time. ❤️
This is a lovely house with beautiful views! Communication was good with Sebastian also. Just a heads up that you need to have a small car to be able to park in the garage. Our rental did not fit and the walk up the driveway is steep. That being said everything was clean and easy to use! Lovely neighborhood too! Easy access to freeways.

Nice and clean but steep and noisy
Everything this listing says is true. The place is nice enough inside and has a beautiful view of the river. But it's the unwritten stuff that's important here. The main picture crops out the insanely noisy 24/7 freeway that never stops. It's directly behind the house, maybe 50 feet away max. Also cropped out is the super steep driveway. If it's raining, you had better have an AWD drive car.
Beautiful views, amenities galore, easy access to South Portland
But as a senior citizen with a heart condition, that driveway stairway was a challenge! We chose not to park in the garage because it was too scary driving down the driveway. I could only see the roof of the neighbor's house from the top! So we parked on the street.
We really appreciated the amenities: free wifi, several streaming services for the TV, coffee machine, dishwasher, full size fridge, garbage disposal, and full size washer and dryer! I had to stand on a chair to see the dryer controls, but that wasn't a problem.
The bedding was soft and warm and very comfortable.
I'm not a morning person, so I never saw the sun rising behind Mt. Hood, but the views were indeed spectacular all morning!
Traffic noise was an issue. Decompressing truck brakes cut through even the ear plugs and the white noise machine. But we managed to get a good night's sleep anyway.
Overall, our stay was wonderful, so if my ticker keeps kicking, we will definitely consider another visit.
We had a delightful stay in this blue cottage. Sebastian was very helpful--even sent us a care package of treats, when none were there for us. When he learned our flight was in the evening, he extended our check out time. Thank you, Seb!The cottage looks newly remodeled, is very clean, outfitted with most everything you might need. There are games and a smart TV. If you have a baby, there is a crib in the upstairs closet. Beds are comfortable, as are linens. A big plus is the two car garage. The master suite upstairs can't be closed or locked off from the rest of the house, so privacy and downstairs noise may be an issue. The kitchen is pretty well equipped. We needed a bigger pot, and he provided that for us, so we didn't have to go out and purchase it.We had difficulty with check in. If we were more technologically savvy, it would've helped. Swirl your finger around the pad, rather than tapping it, to wake it up. I-5 (major freeway) is right in the backyard, just a hop and jump away. You will hear the noise. There is a white noise machine in the bedroom to help with that, and the owner also provides ear plugs. All in all, it was a good stay for us, and we appreciated the extra help. Thank you, Seb!
Great home in a beautiful part of Portland. Nicely appointed home worked out great for us. Would definetly stay here again. The driveway is super steep but worked great for us. Garage fit our vehicle which was a mid size SUV.
Everything about this house easily met our needs. Beds were comfortable and the home lived up to the reputation for beautiful views. While the sound of the highway was audible it was not bad and the white noise machine just made it sound like we were near a river. My Prius didn’t care for the steep driveway so we parked on the street but we had no trouble getting a spot next to the driveway.
