Panoramic Riverside and Lush Forests Views, Pet Friendly, New Décor, Steps Away From Dockside
Nestled atop the slopes above the Tualatin River resides one of the more unique and special escapes the region has to offer. Please note this location sits on a piece of property where there is another one bedroom retreat (Marv's Place), a long term residence, and even a small business office. While any of the locations you stay at, your privacy is completely respected, however there may be other activity in the area including at the incredible shared areas such as the oversized hanging iron firepit or the meandering stairs leading to the property's Tualatin River dock. Due to the geographical setting, we do ask that there are not kids under 12 as the drop-off to the river below could be quite hazardous for kiddos.
The 'Goat Shed' was originally just that in days yonder. Now it is an exquisite one bedroom, one bath escape, with a full kitchen and laundry. Every aspect has been renovated, upgraded, and furnished to create a perfect blend of comfort and style all. The entire space was designed to highlight the incredible riverside and forest views. It's hard to beat enjoying a morning or evening beverage tableside while looking over the picturesque setting.
As if that wasn't enough, just a couple dozen feet away you will find the 'Zen Den'. This is another bedroom with its own, mini fridge, sink, seating, and toilet. Please do note, it does not have its own shower. That is shared and within with the Goat Shed. While it may be missing it's own shower, what it does have is a perched deck overlooking the Tualatin River with views that have to be experienced to believe. You will want to spend every moment out here you can. These two spaces make up 'The Cedars at Rivers Edge'.
The outdoor area at the property is quite special. The areas that are specific to this retreat are the deck and immediate outside areas of the Goat Shed and Zen Den. The large fire-pit area is a shared space with Marv's Place as well. The patio under Marv's Place is only for guests of that unit. Also as we mentioned earlier there is a small office above Marv's Place so people may come and go throughout the day. There is ample parking available for guests on the property as well. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions at all.

Wow, that sums up the entire property. Stunning new small home plus separate bedroom on the river. Clean, modern and relaxing. No details overlooked. Owner is beyond friendly and even lit the firepit for us. Will stay there again!
Both "the Goat Shed" and the "Zen Den" are beautiful. The setting is lovely. The Goat Shed is one of the best equipped kitchen I have had in at VRBO. Beautiful and comfortable. It was a wonderful stay.

Beautiful place
We went in October and stayed with another couple friend of ours. The place was beautiful. It was clean, nicely decorated and the scenery outside was just gorgeous. We went hiking, did wine tastings, and had a fabulous time.
We had a wonderful stay, relaxing in the woods at the Rivers Edge. Our hosts were amazing! Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us.The Zen Den the best! We would like to come back again!

Great Experience!
This is wonderful place to stay! The host/family that owns the property is really good at communicating and genuinely wants you to have a great stay. They are always asking to make sure you are enjoying your stay and if there is anything you need. Wonderful service!
The Goat Shed is a lovely tiny house next to the Tualatin River just outside West Lynn. It sits next to another property with a shared fire pit, though we didn't see the other guests much. It really feels like you are out in the woods otherwise and the view down the hill to the river and the babbling little waterfall are very lovely. My wife and The tiny house was well appointed, with a full kitchen and bath. Parking was back near the road, so a bit hard to drag out luggage across the mulch, but not bad. We enjoyed our stay and would love to stay again.
This property exceeded my expectations, even with all the photos! You just can’t grasp how gorgeous and peaceful the surroundings are. It was luxurious inside and had everything we needed. Highly recommend!
Loved the two houses! Totally updated and very comfortable with everything we needed. Doors and windows were screened to enjoy the outdoors while inside and lots of places outside to relax. Very quiet and in a great location. Great place to relax! Highly recommend!
My fiancé and I found this place so we could have a peaceful retreat after our wedding. My sisters and I ended up staying here the night before our wedding and it was perfect! The perfect cozy getaway to relax and unwind before my big day I couldn’t have asked for a more peaceful place. I highly recommend! Clean & cozy! Just what I was looking for! Can’t wait to visit again!!!
Beautiful setting surrounded by views of cedar trees and the river. Both the Goat House and the Zen Den were pleasing to the eye. Could have done without the construction and leaf blowers on the Monday morning of our stay. They were literally right in front of our windows for quite some time -- took away from the relaxation. Also, our bed sheets had stains on them, so that's icky, and there were somebody else's dirty socks under the bed.
I really enjoyed my stay. The calm place on the river bank. It is clean, light and shadows, panoramic windows. All looks as expected.
There was bad smell from bathroom and I can’t find the cause, but we closed the door and problem was almost solved. The location is good. You can visit Portland (0,5 hour) or city environs without traffic. Good restaurants and large grocery’s in 10 minutes drive.
Such a great mental health break. This space was a great way to recharge the soul. From being able to enjoy a hot cup of tea on the patio with a good book in the evenings, to waking up and having a cup of coffee on the deck with the view and sound of the river.
Exceptionally clean and very private. The property is absolutely gorgeous. Only wish the weather was warmer to enjoy the river. I can’t wait to plan a summer weekend here. Thank you.
This rental surpassed all our expectations in every way! I’ve stayed in numerous vacation rentals over the years, and this one was by far the best. The setting in the forest and on the Tualatin River was surreal. The attention to detail amazing. The Goat Shed & Zen dens were quite clean & cozy. As 2 older women, we felt very safe staying here. Overall centrally located and a quick drive down the road into West Linn offered several wonderful dining options. Definitely plan on staying here again. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend!
‘Thank you so much for providing such a wonderful experience! The hosts were incredibly responsive, respectful, and helpful throughout our stay. The space itself was beautiful and thoughtfully laid out, making it feel like a home away from home. We appreciated the owner's patience of listening to our ongoing hopes and dreams about putting their beautiful house on the market because it’s truly a gem and it only added to our enjoyment of the space. The backyard was a highlight, with beautiful scenery and the soothing sound of the water in the creek. We'll definitely be back for more sun and s'mores! Plus, having access to the nearby park was a great bonus. Highly recommend!’
As lovely as pictured. What you can't see in the pictures is the river and the amazing calming sounds that come along with that! We stayed 5 nights and loved them all, in fact we are already planning our next stay.
My husband and father-in-law stayed here and it was very nice. We enjoyed kayaking on the river in the morning, and having nice fires at night. There was plenty of wood, and amenities in the home.
