"Black Diamond Retreat was a wonderful place for a family gathering. Both indoor and outdoor areas were spacious and gave everyone room to spread out and wander. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit every evening and playing corn hole and bocci outside as well. Even though it seemed we were away in the middle of nowhere and very quiet, town was only a short drive away. Some of us did take and enjoy the Yuengling Brewery tour. "I grew up in Shamokin so I understand most of the homes are historically old and many are row houses. The host does a wonderful job of making the home feel welcoming. Loved the decor and fun layout. The bathroom is large and clean with great water pressure; that's always a bonus. ;)"

All our friends were extremely impressed, as none of us has ever seen a house like this. Jeff and Sarah were very attentive and communication was great! I highly recommend this place!!!"

"Me and my friends just spent our New Year's here for two nights. The man cave lives up to its name-- we spent a good deal of the weekend playing pool, darts, and card games, used the grill, and were just a few blocks off from some great food and liquor stores. I'd imagine any sort of group would enjoy coming here, though, given other advantages like access to trails and monuments in historic PA. Everything worked just as we wanted it to, and Mary's filled out the space to create a great place...

"Backyard was great for letting the dog off leash. There was plenty of space to lounge. Convenient to Reading Hospital. Neighborhood not a desired place to walk about but the convenience and the clean decor was nice."

"Our family celebrated Thanksgiving here and it was perfect. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed, from plates and glassware to pots and pans. The property had plenty of room too! A huge heated sunroom, a sizable great room, and a front porch with the best views of the lake. House came with a fire pit and canoes too and it is right on the beautiful lake. The only small issue we faced was bedrooms are right off the living room, but we were able to move out to the sunroom once...
