All the little things that make traveling a breeze are here: plenty of (shaded!) parking, easy access, great air conditioning (we visited in the summer), wonderful wifi, impeccable cleanliness, fully-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and luxurious towels.For a "small" cottage, the layout is perfect for families. There are plenty of comfortable places for everyone to relax together or alone.We were looking for a place where our dogs would be welcome and have space to play. The Ice Cream cottage is a dream come true! The huge fenced-in yard was dog heaven and a delight for the humans, too--not a sign of a pesky gnat or mosquito! Over three days and many hours outside with the dogs, we never found a single tick. The covered porch was perfect for relaxing meals as the dogs safely explored the yard.New Canaan has plenty of options for delicious food, and while we did get takeaway one night, we prepared our own food the rest of the time. There are great market choices from large chains to an excellent local grocery store. We needed an urgent pharmacy visit at 3:00 a.m. during our visit, and there is a 24-hour CVS only 20 minutes away.We're looking forward to visiting again!"
