  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Beautiful Peaceful Getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house was a spectacular place to stay! It was sparkling clean and everything looked brand new. The living space was great for a family to spend time together and plenty of bathroom space for all. It was quiet and peaceful. Well stocked kitchen for a quick vacation stay. Beds and couches were so comfortable. The only things that were missing were a full sized coffee pot (making 7-10 cups of coffee in Keurig every morning was painful)and a full length mirror. Lighting in bathrooms could have been better for female guest primping time. All in all we had a wonderful time and would definitely return!

great house, great location

Loved the cleanliness and simple layout of the house - perfect for our 3 adult couples. Awesome place for golfers, fun to watch the 10th tee, walk to the clubhouse, use the driving range - also fun for non-golfers to watch and putt around. Loved the clubhouse restaurant and other restaurants close by. Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay!
