This property was great after we got past the check in policy. Admittedly we got to the hotel 2 hours early and were told no rooms were available yet, even though he didn’t check our name. A few minutes later, we were told a room was available but for an added cost of $100 PLN when the whole room cost $267 PLN. We declined and an hour later got to check in for free. We have never experienced that and don’t think it is right. With that said, after check-in, all was good. Big clean room, nice bathroom, and a water station with cold still/sparkling.

Even though the hotel states that there is air conditioning, it only works in the summer. You can't control the room temperature, which for us it was hot. It was a bad experience because we chose the hotel only because of the air conditioning. It should be very clear before reservation that it does not work if you don't go in the summer.

Could be so much better

The heating system is ridiculously complicated.. the breakfast, whilst pretty to look at was lacking - warm juice from concentration, one out three coffee machines working, putting out mediocre at best coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Room unavailable on arrival

Unfortunately we were told on arrival our room wasn't ready as there was a problem, the hotel was full and the room wouldn't be available until the following day. The person on reception assured us that the replacement hotel was the same standard which it clearly wasn't. The replacement hotel was clean, staff friendly, but furniture and provisions utilitarian, no luxuries and tight for space. On going back later that evening to complain to staff at deSilva that there was no comparison between the standard of the hotels, we eventually were offered a room for the following day and as an apology were given a room upgrade & complimentary evening meal on our second (our final) night - it was only a 2 night stay. We requested to speak to the manager on that day who was apologetic about us being given such poor service, The staff made every effort to make up for the experience, the room was lovely, the meal good, and they arranged a taxi to the airport at their cost on our departure. We left on good terms, they tried very hard to make sure we were comfortable, but half our stay was spoiled by the experience, and the meal just about made up for the difference in cost of the rooms. But the taxi was appreciated.
