Immaculate one bedroom cottage on Grand Lake. Cottage sits smack dab on the lake with a private deck for enjoying the waterfront. Pull out couch located in living room to sleep a total of four. Adorable inside and out. The property has a 30 foot long private dock for boaters with easy public launch access just down the street. Bikes are provided for renter use in a shed on the property. Bed linens are included in the rental but towels are not included.

Cottage location on Grand Lake is great for a small family or couple. Sandy and shallow coastline is safe for small children and pleasant for everyone. The cottage faces south thereby receiving sun all day long.

Rogers City and Alpena are a short distance away providing movie theaters, miniature golf and go-karting as well as grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping.

Please note that the cottage does NOT have internet access, cable or a television. Additionally, bed linens are included in the rental but towels are not. Dogs under 50 pounds are allowed, please include as a request when inquiring.

Disappointing lodging
If you are looking for a nice little vacation rental cabin that is neat, clean, functional and well maintained, this is not for you. If you simply don't give a ding-dong, don't mind grunge, and used and abused doesn't bother you, then this may be an option. We found it difficult and time consuming to deal with Vrbo as they are acting as middle man and have little direct knowledge about the place you are renting. Also, when maintenance issues arise, which is most likely, there is no internet service to make contact. This place does have one redeeming quality: location. It is located in Presque Isle, where people are friendly and the environment is wonderful if you love nature; the pace of life is slow and the cabin sits right on the shore of Grand Lake. With some investment in maintenance, restoration, and a little loving care, this rental has the potential to become a desirable destination. We did get a substantial refund, but are sending up a red flag on this one.

Not as expected
We were quite disappointed with our stay overall. When we arrived, there were flies flying around everywhere. Upon looking around, the house is not very clean at all. Cobwebs literally in every corner of the house, dust on every surface, sticky countertop. When we took a shower the drain didn't even drain our water so we were standing in our own dirty water. Didn't even want to use it after that. In the morning, there were dead bugs all over the bathroom sink and in the tub. The bed is extremely uncomfortable to the point we left early because we couldnt stand it anymore. The back porch is overgrown with weeds and the tree on the side is overgrown and in the way. The dinnerware was not very clean, had to wash it before use. (Ended up buying paper plates at the nearby dollar general) The furniture is uncomfortable with stains all over. One of the days there was a loud pump running all day mext door. Really the only positive of this place is that it's lakefront. Grand Lake is beautiful. After reading past reviews, it's obvious other renters had the same problems, but were responded to that the issues were going to be taken care of which, obviously is not the case.

Cabin on the lake
Pleasant stay / place. Nice for walks and swimming access to lake. Porch sits above and just about 10-15 feet from shoreline. A few "minor" things could use sprucing up (its my fix-it-upper mind at work) but nothing major or show stopping. Blind in kitchen window broken, doorknob to back porch fell off. Wires hanging loose coming out of wall, planter off porch overgrown with weeds, and could use some painting updates.

The cabin was clean and tidy, the location was perfect for us as we were spending time with relatives. We had everything we needed, the beach/water was great and it was very handy to have a dock. It worked out great for us and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Quaint cabin
It was everything we needed for a no frills get away. In the middle of beautiful hiking trails and close to fun towns. We tried a different place to eat every meal and was never disappointed. We were able to sit by the water in the afternoons, very relaxing.

Wonderful relaxing cottage. Could use some updates but it was just what we needed. My husband is starting radiation in a week, so staying at the cottage and the water edge is what we needed. Thank you, hope you found it just like we did when we got there. Will be back again.

Cozy Waterside Cottage
My wife and I celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary at the cottage. We had a wonderful time! The cottage was nice and cozy and located on the waters edge. We enjoyed the gorgeous sunset views and the location was near parks, and town (Alpena). We’ll look to book it again in the fall for a weekend fishing trip. Thank you, Harry & Lorraine Newton
