A warm welcome from Prien am Chiemsee! The vacation rental has been available since May 2021. We, the operators of the BaMBi vacation rental, are delighted that you’re interested in learning more about it. BaMBi stands for: Accessible, Central, Organic. The vacation rental is part of a high-quality residential development established in 2011 that has been recognized as a flagship project for its diversity, sustainability, and energy efficiency. Location:Thanks to its location in town (400 m from the train station, 500 m from the center), it’s ideal for travelers arriving by train and/or bicycle, as well as for longer stays. The apartment is situated in a quiet yet central part of town, in a mature neighborhood with historic buildings and mature trees. It’s easy to reach the nearby town center without any barriers: lively, partly urban, and offering everything you need for a pleasant stay, whatever your needs may be. The train station, bus station, and the stop for the historic Chiemsee Railway to the lake are all conveniently within a 5-minute walk. In the immediate vicinity of the apartment, you’ll find a bakery, a butcher shop, a produce store, a discount grocery store, several doctors’ offices, and a bike shop that offers rentals. Just a few steps further are pharmacies, the library, the movie theater, museums, cafés, bars, and restaurants, various specialty shops, banks, the post office, the tourist office, and places of worship of various denominations. The free Schraml beach and the ski and sledding hill are within walking distance. To the east, a quiet, easily accessible footpath leads to the lake. After a short walk through beautiful natural surroundings, you’ll reach scenic overlooks offering unique views of the lake and the Chiemgau Mountains. From there, you can access a very well-developed network of hiking and biking trails through nature reserves along the northern or southern shores of Lake Chiemsee. Those who prefer a livelier atmosphere can head to the tourist district of Stock. Stock is the perfect place to enjoy the “Scheren,” a lively lakeside promenade bustling year-round with cafés and restaurants, or the modern swimming pool with a sauna and beach area. There are several rental stations there for electric boats, pedal boats, and rowboats. From the adjacent harbor, boats depart for the famous islands. The Prien train station is very well connected to the cities of Rosenheim, Munich, Salzburg, and Innsbruck with frequent service. The Chiemgau Railway takes you to Aschau im Chiemgau to our local mountains (Kampenwand, Geigelstein) or to the Sachranger Valley. Regular bus service provides access to wonderful day trips as far as Reit im Winkel. People with disabilities are warmly welcome. The vacation rental is low-barrier but not fully accessible. We’d be happy to discuss individual options and possibilities with you before you book. If you’d like to keep your luggage “light,” we’re happy to offer the following services for a fee (depending on the effort involved) upon request: Beach Day: Beach blanket, umbrella, beach chair, beach towels, beach bag, insulated bag—all designed for heading out by bike or on foot. The accessible accommodations are located on the first floor of the residential complex. Controlled ventilation, extensive accessibility features, the use of appropriate building materials, and the Passive House standard form the basis for an excellent living environment and indoor climate. The vacation rental faces southwest and features a large, screened-in terrace overlooking a spacious garden with mature trees and views of parts of the Alps. The apartment’s excellent amenities and spacious layout make it easy to invite friends or acquaintances staying in the Chiemsee vacation region over for a meal, for example.The kitchenette is new, very high-quality, and fully equipped with all appliances, kitchen utensils, spices, tea, and matching linens. An empty shelf adjacent to the kitchen provides space for your own kitchen utensils and groceries.The dining area is exceptionally spacious and cozy, featuring a corner bench arranged around a very old farmhouse table (which has been in the family for generations).
