Kat's Cradle Cottage in Prince Edward County. Waterfront on the Reach!
Kat's Cradle is located about 15 minutes east of Picton near the natural wonder of Lake-on-the-Mountain, Glenora Ferry, the Waupoos Winery, and County Cider. Located on the Bay of Quinte in a quiet location along the south shore of Adolphus Reach, Kat's Cradle is a great place for rest and relaxation. This one level cottage accommodates a maximum of 4 persons (local by-law 4518-2019). July and August - weekly only, check in/out Sunday This comfortable two bed-room open concept vacation home includes a stone fireplace, oak hardwood floors, a huge water view deck with lounge chairs and bistro set plus a gazebo. The master bedroom features queen size bed with a walk out patio door to the water view deck. The second bedroom also contains a queen sized bed. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, cutlery and cooking pans, pots and utensils. The sitting area has a TV as well as WIFI. Please note it is rural internet and while it is fairly robust, it does have connectivity issues during the summer months but is usually available in the evenings. Children will enjoy playing in the spacious and shaded yard and the dock will provide hours of fishing entertainment. In the evening you will take delight in grilling your dinner on the deck while appreciating the wonderful view of the bay. End the day by roasting marshmallows and telling tales around the waterside campfire as the sun sets over the bay. While you're here, be sure to check out the many other attractions of Prince Edward County including the wineries, breweries and distilleries and the famous Sandbanks Provincial Park. If you're looking for adventure, you could tour the local wineries, spend the day at a spa, shop and browse in the boutiques, artisan and antique shops, dine out at a fine restaurant or pub, play a round of golf, tour the County on bicycle, try your luck at fishing or check out the local farm markets. The waterfront is over 140' in length and has a drive in boat launch alongside a 5' x 20' dock. The availability of the dock is contingent upon water levels (if they are substantially higher than normal, the dock may not be available - this has happened for only 2 months in our over 10 years of renting the property). Per By-Law 167-2022 all renters must be advised that the cottage is located on a private road and Prince Edward County emergency services may be delayed as a result. License Number: STA2019-063

Beautiful location and nice cottage. Owner was very responsive. Would have been perfect if beds had been comfortable.....all need new mattresses please.
Everything you need as a basic was at the cabin, beds were decent, size of the cabin was perfect, deck was gorgeous and the best part was the sunset view right on the lake. The only downside were the bugs, but hey your in a lakeside cabin so its to be expected
Great cottage and wonderful location for PEC visit!
Allane was wonderful at communicating and was very accommodating, which we greatly appreciated!!
We loved the location, beautiful waterfront and close to all PEC activities.
Great space for family of 4, and kids loved the cottage.
Highly recommend Kat's Cradle Cottage!
If you are looking to sit back and relax this is a perfect place. You get everything you need besides food and linens. The hosts provided all the details and responded promptly with answers to our questions. The view over the bay is outstanding and the campfires at night an added bonus.
Cottage was small and rustic a perfect size for the two of us with an amazing view of the water. Host was friendly, responsive and very welcoming. Unfortunately, the weather let us down as it was quite cold, wet and windy ( expected at this time of the year I suppose). The best part was watching the wildlife. Plenty of Loons and Canada Geese, who would park themselves on the water right outside the property and stay a while. It was quite the treat watching a family of River Otters playing and eating before scurrying back to their den. The Swans who can forget the swans, beautiful! There’s a short drive into Picton to bakeries, cafes, shops and restaurants. All in all we enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to do it again earlier than the end of October.
A beautiful location on the lake. Being able to sit on the deck to eat dinner and watch the sunset was a special finish to each day. There is plenty to do in the county, people are friendly and easy to navigate. Our hosts were quick to answer questions. Swimming is not recommended there, but there are other options for swimming not far away. Overall a lovely week.
We had a wonderful time at the cottage! It is cozy for a young family with baby/toddler. Great patio and lot of space outside to run for our toddler. The cottage was also very clean. The host contacted us a few days before our stay to make sure that we had all the necessary information to plan our stay, which we found reassuring and friendly. Amazing view for sunset and great location for PEC activities! Will definitely recommend to our friends and family.
We loved our stay at Kat's Cradle!! The location on the lake was beautiful, and the cottage itself was so cute and cozy, even better than the photos! Everything was super clean, and the cottage had everything we could need. The host even left us water and a local treat in the fridge which was so thoughful and apprecaited. Communication with the host was fast and efficient. Would definitely reccomend!!
Wonderful, comfortable cottage and perfect for a peaceful getaway. Everything was spotless and well-kept. Gorgeous views, nice dock, quiet secluded area. PEC is great with some spectacular restaurants. Thank you Allane and Jerry!
The cottage was welcoming and comfortable . Lovely large grounds around the cottage and it was delightfully private. A pair of swans would stop nightly to forage right in front of the dock . If you’re looking for a totally relaxing place to unwind , you won’t be disappointed . Waterfront entry quite rocky so water shoes recommended .
We did enjoyed our stay. Having coffee watching the swans swimming in front of the cottage, listening to the birds and seeing the squirrels fooling around was just magical! It was peaceful. The cottage was clean. Living room had a huge comfy couch. You need to bring water to drink but Allane left some for us when we arrived. The only downside for us was the mattresses. Not comfortable and a piece of wood was going across. We had a wonderful stay.
Great location, stayed in late May when the Mammoth Lakes Basin was just opening up after winter. I enjoyed being able to walk to the Eagle Lodge ski lifts, in the summer there are lots of walking / hiking paths to explore. The host was very communicative, sending detailed instructions for check-in. The condo itself was peaceful, amazing views as you can already tell from the pictures. I am sure if anything was not to my liking then the host would provide solutions quickly, but I did not have any issues using the stovetop, kitchenware, microwave, etc. so no complaints there. The wifi was fine for streaming videos, neighboring units were quiet, not sure if anyone was staying in them though. Check-out was a pretty simple process as well.
